It's very handy and if you already are using it dor the camper, might as well use it for a jack too.

I plan on using hitch receivers like what I'm using as a 3rd leg on the camper.

HVAC people did work on my townhouse A/C unit today.

I ask one of them about my Bronco A/C; mentioning I want to remove it but was concerned about removing the Freon.
Discovered I don't have any Freon in the system.

That means I'm removing said A/C unit in the very near future.

Started the removal of the A/C unit.
Removed the refrigerant lines.
Removed receiver drier/accumulator.

Tomorrow morning I'll remove the condenser.

Have to order a compressor bypass pulley.
For simplicity I'm going to leave the evaporator core.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ELIMINATE THE BYPASS PULLEY (as well as the A/C COMPRESSOR)?

Use a shorter fanbelt/route fanbelt OVER idler pully between alternator and P/S pump:

Pondering whether to use a compressor bypass pulley/eliminate said pulley all together/leave it alone.
For right now I'm leaving it alone.

Over on FSB a member eliminated A/C pulley all together:

Probably because from 1977 to 1989 all of my off road experience was either in a '68 Kaiser Jeep or a '73 IH Travelall.
Niether had A/C nor carpeting.

Those two rigs are the platforms for which all of my future off road trucks are based on.

As stated earlier; the A/C hasn't worked in over 10 years.

Also; A/C isn't very efficient with no doors on.

That is how I routed the belt on my bronco when the pump exploded. Modified the heater box with non AC stuff and had way more tire clearance. Ditching the evaporator dropped the motor like 10 deg when running it hard.

I measured the fan belt with a string completely bypassing the A/C compressor and re-routing said fan belt.
I got 94.5"

Stock length is 99"

Would it be a big deal if I used a 93" fan belt even though my primitive measurement yielded 94.5"?

Ditch the air pump. I had one seize up on a trip. The belt gets nice and short then. I think I put a larger wheel on the tensioner or something to make it work better. It's been a few years/beers.....

Who subscribes to the 'REPLACE THE TENSIONER WHEN YOU REPLACE THE FAN BELT' philosophy?

I'm going to measure the distance between the PS and ALT; simply bypassing the A/C pump.

Take what the difference is and then buy a fan belt accordingly:
99"(stock Bronco) - X(measurement difference) = Y(shorter length fan belt)

Measured A/C pulley to ALT pulley: 30.5" (stock route).

Measured P/S pulley to ALT pulley: 22.5" (bypass A/C pulley).

Measurements:
30.5"-22.5"=8"
99"-8=91"

Removed the camper today:

Used HF dollies to roll camper on trailer:

The wood was used to keep the dollies centered while rolling.

Used dually rims/tires to lower the rear:

This is the first time the camper's been off since the lower gear install.

It's like I gained 100HP and 150ft/lbs of torque!🤣😀
