I will say that it works extremely well. It seemed over the top expensive at first but proved to be a quality productMan, that 4.5” of lift is definitely necessary.

I think the kit he bought was $2800 or something USThey just raised their prices. With the exchange rate it’s about $2,000. Not terrible…I guess.

I got 2 A-arms and 4 coil springs for $1000 bucks shipped. Very pleased with my hybrid Altered-Mini kit. Sounds better than Cal-Ego. To bad my engine took a shit on the second trip after dumping $3,000 bucks in it to give the car side of it a refresh. That must be with shipping. I haven’t got an exact quote yet.
Get up there too steep and those Toyota axles from Slowpoke will seem better…
With the tcase gears you should be fine with whatever clutch is on saleWell, Low Range Offroad is running a 15% off sale. Just pulled the trigger on the Sumo Gears (4.24) and saved almost $90.
Let the fun begin.
Time to hunt down a new clutch. Throw out bearing has been making noise anyways.
Exedy or LUK?
Is your expensive grease CV axle specific grease? Apparently it's polyurea instead of lithium (or whatever).I use expensive grease instead of the cheap crap that comes with the boot.
I use high moly. I can’t remember which of these but we use it in our RCV’s in the race cars. It’s almost a magnetic liquid, it sticks to the metal and almost impossible to break down. Completely water proof, also solvent proof so pretty difficult to contaminate. Also helps IDGAF what “manufacturers recommend”.Is your expensive grease CV axle specific grease? I always wondered if it makes any difference.

For the possibility of future service is exactly why I left it out. It’s been out for 6 years and the t-case has been rock solid, no leaks. What do you guys think about not installing the top long bolt under the transmission shifter housing?
JR4X said he left his out. Just thinking ahead for future services, or a broken case.
Well these gears are an absolute game changer.
Buttoned it all up tonight. New clutch is damn grabby as well.
TDI swap, gearings fine4th gear is the new 1st
I can't understand why they made the low only 1.9 or whatever. Should habe been 3:1 stock and samurais should have been 4:1
Does it actually want to idle over stuff? My old samurai had the 8v and with the 4.7 case only, 4.10 r&p and 37s it wasn't bad on everything but real technical stuff. I'd imagine, with 5.12s and 30s, you should be pretty darn good.

Low gearing is probably the best money spent. Makes it so much more enjoyable to be on the trail.
Soooo how do these do on utv tracks?
You guys using hose clamps or something to keep your rear springs from dumping out?
Hose clamps on mine.
3/16 on the belly skids “it’ll custom form to what it needs to.” -my one friend
I’m running red and tacky in my re-booted CVs.
Somehow I got unsubscribed from this thread, I missed all kinds of good stuff apparently.
I wrapped a large hose clamp around the body mount and spring perch on the top, and then a clamp around the axle and one around the spring for the bottom.
Hopefully it works.
I don't think you'll want to capture both sides. At least not with hose clamps.
Plus, it's good for a laugh when you pull up to your group and someone goes. "is your coil spring gone?"....... Twice
