What's new

What did you do to your yota today?

Worked on my grandson's 83. New aluminum radiator, fan, fan clutch, waterpump and finished the trail gear gm alternator install.

Put a new passenger's fender on cut the hood a little better, then finished my ABS intake and AFM mount. Waiting on a silicone sleeve to connect the intake horn to the intake tube.

Just finished the oil filter adapter o-ring on the wife's runner. Flat as the mounting surface, it was. Had one leak start on each vehicle with that sub-zero cold snap we had.

Ordered plugs and wires for my 2000 4runner. Showed up in the mail today. Installed them when I got home from work.

So far no more misfire, which hopefully it stays that way. I didn't want to have to do injectors right now.

cleaned PS fluid reservoir screen on the doublecab... Was mostly plugged... common, I guess. pretty sure pump is bad, so ordered one from RockAuto as well as a PS fluid filter...

And changed the pump.... again....

new pump whined... couldn't get it to stop. No foaming in reservoir, so it appeared to be well bled.

put factory pump back in with the aftermarket reservoir... bled. all good.

Damn; your rig takes me back to high school days!:grinpimp:
What year rig?

To this day; I have never seen a Consumer Report near-perfect review/rating on ANY vehicle as with that era Toyota ('79-'83).:smokin::beer:
THEE only less-than-perfect score/rating it got was the paint job.
All other review points got a perfect score.

I've been packing for winter fun fest.

However it seems my driver side front spring pack is sagging more than the left. I built a RUF spring pack with some old springs and a set of brand new SDTruck leaf springs last year. They only have 1 trail run and I only drive it occasionally on the weekends so I think the new springs are not good quality.

LBJ’s on the 4runner lead to a CV.

And I think I diagnosed the clunk in the tacoma. Both spring eye bushings are shot… and one frame side shacks bushing frozen, which probably explains the lean….

I started mine this week, just to let it run.

Still need to check torque on all of my suspension and it kind of has noisy valves…so I’ll probably check their clearance as well. I have until April or May before this even drives on a road, so plenty of time. :flipoff2:

Drove my 330k lx470 down/up the mountain. 10+ miles solid ice. 50 miles or so round trip.

Best truck I've ever had.

Has anyone every seen an rf1a tcase cooler? The bike stock first gen 4runner I'm working on has one. Fawkin weird.

You sure that’s an RF1A? doesn’t look like it from the pics. Assuming the drain plug in the wrong spot because the housing is different for the cooler, the bolt pattern for the housing is still off.

Is the 4runner Auto?

Got a check engine light on my 3rd gen, Rock auto delivered a pair of 02 sensors, I'm wondering why they are not installing themselves.

:lmao::lmao:

Wrapping up lamest back half ever. Started 3/25/22, large hiatus followed by a flurry of activity.

Those were autos. I’ve seen one at the yard. Those were the fucked up ones with the transfer case being integrated into the transmission. A340H

Replaced an upstream 02 sensor, cleared up a check engine light, retorqued my beadlocks, and plan on going to Holcomb creek tomorrow with my kid and a buddy.

I know it may be against the board rules to leave the house and wheel, but I'll take my chances,

Ban me if you have to.:flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2::lmao:

Got lucky friday night dropping a rig off. Steepish left hand corner, we were planning on unloading at the bottom, but I was too cocky. I didnt make the hill, slid backwards, and jacknifed. I got SUPER lucky as the trailer hit the tire first, and olny left one tiny scratch on the tundra. I was expecting to get out to the back of the bed caved in. Anyway, unloaded the runner off the back (also lucky we didnt have to drive it off the front) and used that to pull the truck/trailer up to the meeting spot.
