What's new

Vaccination mandates on the horizon.

I'm where you're at, on year 1.5.

Pretty sure its not coming back (all the way). Fuck it. At least I didn't wind up on the vent, with family crying outside, while remdesivir shut my organs down.
I have mine back to probably 90% now. It's been a good 1.5 years for me too and all of a sudden it hit me, wow does this food ever taste good. I hadn't been able to taste anything for so long it was a surprise, cue over eating now because it all tastes so good, even stuff I didn't like before. I also have to turn the dial down to a 1 on condiments and spices as I was way overdoing it.

Smell is back the same too although it's overpowering at times. I made myself gag the other day while I was taking a shit.

Has anybody known anyone that wasn't vaxxed to get it twice? I was talking to my friend that works at a Dr's office and she said she has yet to have anyone get it twice if they were unvaxxed. She has had a bunch of vaxxed get it twice.
Wife had it twice then got vaxced and got it again 3 months after her 2nd shot. Both my adult sons have had it twice, neither of tgem are vaxxed.
Wife had the worst case of it her 2nd time. The rest were not much more tgan a cold

Yea. I'm just getting over it for the 2nd time 2 years apart and my oldest brother had it twice 2 years ago and is recovering for the 3rd time now. The first time was the worst for both of us.

I sort of agree, and am sure that’s the case with some, but I’m 14 months out and still can’t smell gas. At all. I can tell something is there but it’s just like smelling dirt, not strong at all.
Thats funny my brother has the exact same thing. He just popped hot for the sniffles and he said he can smell and taste everything but gasoline. Weirdest shit ever.

So y'all can't love the smell of napalm in the morning

You know, with the lack of accuracy in these tests, how can we be sure re-infections are legit? The tests are highly inaccurate.
Agree. How many people that tested positive the first time didnt really have Covid? The idea of having to take a test to see if you are sick seems weird in the first place.

We can't. The testing is about as accurate as throwing a rock at a moving car.

I'm pretty sure half the cvd-19 cases in 2020 were actually just flu. Alot of people out there thinking they're getting cvd19 for the 2nd time, when really it's their 1st time. Also alot of people people thinking they're getting it for the 1st time when really it's their 2nd.

Just out of curiosity, what lead him to try an taste gasoline?

My wife and I both have it now for the first time. I tested positive with a home kit and then again at a clinic that my work sent me to. Mine started out like the flu with a headache and body aches but only for one night. Then like mild sinus symptoms for 3 days and no symptoms now. My wife is more sick than she has been in years with coughing. She normally has a better immune system than me. We are late 50s and triple vaxed.

Prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

FWIW
I just had a 66y.o. friend start feeling like shit last Sunday,
Monday confirmed it was covid/felt even worse,
Feeling like shit plateaus on Tuesday,
Started feeling better on Wednesday,
Feeling even better on Thursday,
Back at work today (Friday).

Covid has a 95% to 99.9+++% survival rate.

Why does this sound like a typical, or only a slightly elevated flu season???

Help a retired/hermit brotha out.:homer:

Even more weird is I have to get fit test every year to wear a respirator at work, but ol' Brandon can hand them out willie nillie.
I've literally begged to be allowed to wear one during a certain job we run and was flag out told I'll be fired if I bring one in to wear.

Um more info please? Is this job pertaining to the turbo sniffles or is there a teal present danger that would warrent a respirator?

Because it doesn't fit the narrative of the "we all gonna" die fear.

I antibody test every 6 weeks. I add it in to my normal TRT bloodwork out of curiosity. I test again in two weeks, super curious if my 2nd covid was actually covid, and what it will do to those antibody levels.

Sounds like a federal judge put a stay on Biden’s federal employees vaccine mandate.

This is gonna turn into the largest class action lawsuit the country has ever seen.

if i understand things correctly the level of anitbodies is a reflection of exposure, not infelction?

A cleanup after a certain job was run. We heated the solvent to around 140f to clean the adhesive off the equipment.

Safety dept ran tests and determined it wasn't a safety threat. However after a couple hours of hovering over these open barrels of hot solvent (ethyl acetate, I believe) I'd start getting light headed. So I asked to get a respirator. Solid no, due to then having to test regularly and whatnot and besides they determined it wasn't necessary. So I said I'll bring my own in... And that's when I was flat out told if I do I'm fired.

I haven't kept up with what's been going on in that dept. Last I saw they started getting the guys some kind of charcoal impregnated n95 style mask.

Edit: my situation was before the covid bullshit.

Wtf? Why would they care if you wear a respirator for chemicals? That's a huge liability for them should something happen.
