What's new

Useless things about your day!

We have a "floating birthday holiday" at the office. Just went to take mine and I can't. Fine print in the handbook says it has to be taken in your birthday month. :flipoff:

Bitched to my boss and he was unaware of said fine print as well. Pissed him off too. He told me to enjoy my day off. :smokin:

From everything I’ve seen, it’s likely not the adhesive, but the foam or other backing is actually failing. So attaching fresh adhesive and fabric will just allow that backing/foam to keep failing and falling down soon. So either new or go all the way to what’s not failing.
To be clear, I want to do a custom headliner with a custom print of fabric. Would I be better off getting a good junkyard headliner and gluing my shit over or should I strip my headliner and remove the foam?

I keep new sets of tires for all my units as they all take the same size except for the Honda Talons.

One of the Talons went from "It needs tires soon" to fucking bald in just a few days.

So I ordered a set 3 day shipping from Ebay via FedEX

They were due Wend, yesterday (Thursday) they were delivered and signed for - to another fucking city and zip code!!!!

WTF Fedex.

Calling them, no help at all "we will open a case, get back to you in 5-7 business days"

Ebay says "tracking number shows as delivered"

I had to put a set of used tires on it from the Mexican tire store just to get through the weekend.

I ordered another set via Prime that will be delivered monday

Can you not just run a different rim in order to have common spares?

Since you do 99.9% road miles on those things I'm surprised you're not running eBay adapters and FWD economy car tires.

Oh running economy car tires on there might discourage customers taking the machines on offroad jaunts too!

If it's fairly heavy fabric I would strip the old one and go, something really lightweight might work on a good JY headliner but then you would be left wondering when the foam is gonna shit the bed on that one.

I am lucky enough to have a foam store here and they usually have some 3/16 stuff on hand that works well, just thinking a fabric store might have some as well.

Never rented a car before?

The best lawn mower ever created.
Only push mower with centrifugal ignition timing advance.
you used to be able to still get parts for the older ones, just gotta say its an old OMC outboard

grandpa had an older one than that, with the simple cowling and smaller engine, whole thing weighs like 25-30lbs

Lawn boy? I Think they used Suzuki’s. But I agree, best mower ever. Mine has no throtttle. Start it and it goes straight into the ketchup. It laughs at tall wet grass.

I drove a fuck ton of miles this week at work.

Left Dallas Monday at 2pm and drove to El Reno OK, 4.5hrs away for work Tuesday. Left El Reno Wednesday morning and went to work in OKC 45min away. Left OKC Wednesday at 11am-ish and drove straight through to a hotel in El Paso 11.5hrs away. Drove to the job Thursday morning to do what I had to do and left New Mexico yesterday at 1:30pm and drove 10.5hrs back to Dallas straight through.

Needless to say I didn't work today and spent the morning sleeping. 😴

Not often that the desert of NM is this green. Had to actually haul out the mower last night. Weeds were up to my knees. Apple trees are loaded with some of the biggest apples we've ever grown.

I left OKC yesterday morning and drove to El Paso via I40 and 54 all through NM. It looks weird...... The desert doesn't look like the desert that I'm used to seeing out that way.

Edit: People in NM own lawn mowers? :lmao:

Getting ready to do about 550 sqft of vinyl glue down plank this weekend over the burnt plywood floor in our living room/family room.

fuck yeah it is.

all the ripims, all the time.
Not sure how old this one is, dad bought it probably 30 years ago from the neighbor that used to fix small engines in the garage.
man, I miss Harold. I regret not hanging out more when I was younger. Didn't know what I had across the street there.

Lol. Fuck you guys. :flipoff2:
We did it for a durable floor for the dogs since that’s the main area they go in. I was tripping balls when I did all the epoxy on it.

Now that we are selling the place we figured we should make it look less white trash.

Ended hell week at work, only 3 more to go before I can take time off:mad3::lmao:. It's going to royally suck ass if they bring back a mask mandate at work, July sucked total balls, and I have a feeling august is going to be worse.

I learned that horseshoe crabs are the best bait for conch, in New York.

I miss dirty gulf waters, where everything makes sense.

Well I agreed to buy back my old ‘87 K30 GMC from my oldest son. It’s an old brush truck from a local FD. I bought it with a blown motor and put a built 350 in it. He bought it from me and replaced the rockers, clutch, brakes, wheel bearings, floor pans, and did some body work. He has a kid now and wants to free up some cash, and when he bought it we agreed that it would stay in the family. My 13 year old daughter is excited about learning to drive a 4 speed in that truck. With granny low and the motor that’s in it you can’t stall it.

Went to the liquor store to buy some beers to enjoy while fishing.

Standing in line there are 4 folks dressed to the nines buying pretty much everything in the store. I inquired as to their predicament and they said they were at a wedding and the bartender didn't show.

I helped them carry all the booze to their car and they bought me a 12 pack of beer for my troubles. :grinpimp:

I know it's a lost cause. But what would happen if everyone just showed up without a mask? Like, the entire staff?

I have the same question about schools, especially older kids. I know if I was in high school and we knew we had nothing to lose, those things would've been off in synchronized fashion. 1:00 bell after lunch, masks gone. Your move. Detention? Suspension? On my 'permanent record'?

Not so much a question about your particular case, but just kinda wondering why there's not more of that these days. I remember 'walk outs' over things that were less controversial. I can't imagine a better scene than a school full of kids sitting quietly, calmly unmasked in every classroom while the staff tries to figure out what to do next.

The indoctrination kids have had over this bs is mind blowing. Most of them embrace wearing the fucking things.

If this had happened in the late 90's when I was in school, no one would have complied.

Nothing I'm sure. I'm the safety manager for the building and I had zero conversations with anyone about them when they mandated them last time.

I will just be getting a damn earful from all the workers like it was my rule or something....

My ears are now bleeding. Florida Georgia line must be your go to.
I've been on a Tyler Woods and Heath Sanders kick for a few months. That song, iunno, wasn't bad I guess. Then again, that last time I cared what other people thought of the music I listen to was mid high school.

Back a day early from camping.

First night, our air mattress was completely flat by midnight. I was a hurting unit that morning. Day was fun. Did a bit of fishing. Kiddo went out in the kayak. Ate a LOT. Went out to the local outdoors place and snagged a cheapo air mattress.

Second night, doggo pissed on the sleeping bag. Friend lent us one as a cover. It got to 42º that night. We. Freaking. FROZE. Holy crap. lower 40s in AUGUST. What the shit was THAT. Air mattress held up fine. We were going to stay tonight, but more cold weather coming in along with lots of rain for the next couple days. Between being cold and having to pack up in the rain, we called it.

Nice to be back. Have a few things that need sorting out before we go again.

Had a great time though. Kiddo loved it.
