Useless things about your day!

At my new job the prank on the new guy (me being the mark) they put a fat stack of movie quality fake 100 bills in your desk. When you discover said stack and inquire about it, they tell you it's your monthly company "spendin' money" to use for lunch, gas on company errands, etc. If you don't use it all by the end of the month, you get to keep the remainder.

They had me going for about an hour till someone spilled the beans.

Anyway, I have them and I'm now going to use them to tip people who don't really deserve a tip.

My friend had a bunch of prop $100s from movies at his wedding and was hiding it in girls bags and jacket pockets etc. A guests wife found it, spent it and had no idea it was fake.

Home office is out in the shop. Now that winter is here it's cold out here on the mornings I WFH and takes an hour or two to warm up once I kick the pellet stove on.

Got some cheap Wifi smartplugs off Chinazon. Now i can set the stove to fire up a few hours before I get out here on those days. Or kick it on when I'm on my way home from the main office. :smokin:

Got a wild hair up my ass the other day & decided to make my life better before the rainy season.

Driveway bricks had sunk at shop entrance to the point it was a gnarly step up

Ignored my pissed-off knee, pulled up a couple rows of bricks, laid in a bit of 3/4- base rock . . .

. . . and made it so small-wheeled stuff is easy to roll into & out of the shop

I can't overstate how much better that area is to navigate now

panzer taught me something last time I was there panning out some sand

foamboard insulation offcuts, the xps stuff (especially in the higher density version) makes about the best kneepads for working on stuff
and the little bits are always free in abundance

like those squishy foam gardening ones, but a good bit more supportive ad less permeable

make half decent kneeboards for finishing concrete too... quick wrap with duct tape if you are goona hang onto them

I got reported for possibly being drunk at work this morning because I stumbled when tripping over my own feet while going through a door at ~6:30AM. So I got to explain to the top health and safety officer and a medical team member (both of whom know me pretty well, and one knows that I don't drink) that I'm just clumsy and tired. :homer:

They suggested that maybe he thought I had a medical emergency, but didn't have an answer when I questioned why he would walk away without asking if I was ok :lmao:

The guy is a known dick, and at least two other employees I talk to regularly have had issues or major arguments with him.
