ugh, that guy again?
when the mind's on autopilot you run through the motions automaticallyHuh, thought that was just for other trailers being towed to let the driver know the trailer was clear.

Nope. Janitorial lead up there.Thefishguy77 , your work mechanic or run DOT truck?
Sort of. They would switch off the headlights momentarily to signal you, not blind you with high beams when staring in the mirror!FYI he probably wasn't trying to be a dick. Alot of older truckers do that when people pass them to let you know you are clear to get back over at what they consider a "safe distance" in front of them
.
Some only do it for other trucks. Some do it for everybody. They also used to do it by turning them off like firstram said but alot of the younger guys who do it flash high beams instead. Im guessing because most of the newer trucks have lights that run all the time or are automatic.Huh, thought that was just for other trailers being towed to let the driver know the trailer was clear.
Yep thats how i learned and always did it. I think that the using high beams instead comes from more trucks with automatic/always on lights because it seems more common now. It is a way bigger pain in the ass to fuck with the dial then just hit the stalk real quick. Also doesn't seem as common with modern truckers. Too many indians and russians and shit i think with their head up thier ass and fresh from Fordguys house of armenian truck and fuck.Sort of. The truck that had just passed would flash their running lights as a thank you for signaling they were in the clear.
People used to have manners
Seems dumb for someone with spatial awareness (like people who drive their trucks through the forest, rocks and shit). Before the pitch forks come out, I know you need stopping distance and whatnot.FYI he probably wasn't trying to be a dick. Cool, you've been up there a few years huh? 5-10 it seems?Nope. Janitorial lead up there.
ETA:
Pretty good chance that in the next few years this transition to facilities and maintenance manager and salary
Ohh alot of them are dumb as shit ill grant you. Especially now. The quality of "drivers" out there is on the floor metaphorically speaking. Like i said really seems to be an older trucker thing anyway. Ya know the ones who aren't dumb enough to be offroading a freightliner cascadia because the gps said so.Seems dumb for someone with spatial awareness (like people who drive their trucks through the forest, rocks and shit). Before the pitch forks come out, I know you need stopping distance and whatnot.

Nope last year was my first actually working there. Apparently showing up sober and on time and working hard get you promoted right awaySeems dumb for someone with spatial awareness (like people who drive their trucks through the forest, rocks and shit). Seriously? Rub it in cider and count your blessingsI broke my elbow petty bad when I was 13ish. Got a pile of hardware put in and tore up some nerves. Other then my pinky finger and the right side of my ring finger always tingling like its asleep Its been "mostly" fine for 20+ years. Couple months ago it started bothering me, just sore, about a moth ago it got to the point it hurt all day every day, couple weeks ago it got weak like cant swing a hammer or pick something up with a bent elbow.
Went to the DR thinking the hardware is coming out or its arthritis. All that looks fine, his thinking nerve damage so I have a nerve test scheduled. I'm just glad they don't want to remove the hardware as they have to rebreak my arm to get it out.
Pics for those that care.

They say it beats the alternative. I'm taking that at face value for nowIt does lol
There is a young kitchen manager 23. I have been at the bottom of the hill since 2016. But only finally took a job up there last year. The pay is decent but the environment is really good I regret not starting there earlier.Gotcha, I guess I thought you moved up the hill some years ago, maybe true but job may have been different.
Covid works too. My bro works east DOT and there's a kid like sub 30 as a manager/super making good money cause there was no one to fill that role.
Old guy? Young guy?The Asshole who caused a lot of problems on on my street dropped dead of a Heart attack. No tears shed
