used F250 4x4 vs used f350 4x4

You want to take a truck that you’re planning to use for ranch work, and lift it, making it less suited for ranch work? :homer:

Newer F250s and 350s will pretty much fit 35s stock. People fit 37s with a leveling kit.

I dont see how a small lift would make it less suited.. at least for what I would use it for.. I mostly just want tires that are very durable and I wont have to worry about them..

When you say you’re planning to lift it, are you talking about a leveling kit, suspension system from someone like Carli, or throwing on a rough country 6” lift?

My point was loading and unloading ranch supplies, using it to pull a trailer, etc. with a lifted F250/350 kind of defeats the purpose of the truck. These trucks already have tall bed sides and the rear tends to sit pretty high. A leveling kit will likely allow you to fit 35s, or 37s with minor trimming.

Honestly, if you’re willing to wait a year or so, I would look at a slightly used Tremor once those start hitting the market.

to be honest, I'm living with and taking care of my mother right now.. she has many problems, like diabetes and dementia..

I really enjoy my time at the ranch.. but I don't like leaving her alone.. all be it she has lots of family in the area..

however, when ever she does pass away, I'm moving to the ranch permanently, and I will wait till then, before trading in my car for presumably a 4x4..

the house alone is worth over 500 grand.. and I get half.. I will have plenty of money for a nice 4x4, and she knows I will be getting one, and she approves..

however I dont want to waste money, just cuz I will have it..

Well this whole plan sounds like exactly that + pipe dream.

Buy a $1500 f250/chevy2500/sqrdodge gasser and get work done instead of waiting 1-5 years on money that may possibly come your way

thats just it.. I dont have any real money right now.. but my parents do..

my dad will probably live another 15-20 years.. his father made it to 92, and many of his aunts and uncles made it past 100.. and most of them smoked ciggs forever.. actually one of his aunts is still alive, she is around 105.. and beat Covid..

my mom's family doesnt have this kind of longevity..
