Doesn't matter. If they have a VP debate, he will kill Harriss, and people are voting for Trump, not the VP. I don't think it helps Trump at all, but it doesn't really damage him either.
 
All Vance needs to do is say "Yeah, I said all that because I believed what the news was saying. Now that I see what he's done, and seen who he REALLY is, I am with him 100%"

Best thing they could do IMHO right now. So many people are starting to see that the news is bullshit, and that statement will have some impact.

JD Vance is a Ohio Senator. He was a Marine who graduated from Ohio State, then Yale Law School. He wrote a bestseller book in 2016 called Hillbilly Elegy, which was turned into a Netflix movie, which documented his upbringing in eastern kentucky and explores the current state of the poorest region of America; The Appalachia's.

He is a staunch 2A supporter, vehemently against gender ideology, DEI, and the deep state. Although he sides heavily with Israel, hes been one of the few senators to stand up against the money laundering operation called the Ukraine War. His voting record strongly resembles Thomas Massie.

He also went to school with Vivek, and is good friends with Peter Theil.
