. . .
immigration should never be a losing issue. You can't have a country w/o a border.
Just to be clear, nobody is calling for an open border. Not even the Libertarian party is calling for an open border (despite claims made by the uninformed). Vilifying immigrants and migrant workers was and is DUMB. Most people don't realize this but the United States accepts more LEGAL immigrants per capita than any other country in the world and its a source of our strength. If Trump had half a brain he would have been saying this and making a call for increasing LEGAL immigration. Instead, he caters to the lowest common denominator with his cries about murderers, and rapists, and drug dealers. The naturalized citizen vote alone probably would have been enough to secure a Trump victory against sleepy Joe but he pissed that away by spewing his nonsense.

. . . . You have a better chance of Kamala Harris being "pro gun" than you do a Republican being okay with abortions. . .
I totally disagree. Most of the people I know who vote Republican don't give two shits about abortion. For the most part, the only people who care about abortion religious freaks. And just to be clear, I'm not saying abortion is a good thing. What I am saying is its a private family decision that is nobody else's fawking business. And for sure government should not be funding abortion.

Unless the republican party is willing to make some deep changes they are done after this election if Biden truly wins. The R's need to quit being a bunch of boomers and try to relate to the younger voting crowd. Holding tight to 1950's values isn't the way to do that.

I agree 100%. Especially the under 40y/o crowd. They just don't give a shit about abortion.

The republican party is done if Trump doesn't win this election....

In all reality the republican party's been done for quite a while now. Face facts, their message is not one that enough people in this country want. Trump barely won 4 years ago and the same was true of Bush in 2000 and he barely got a majority in 2004 over Kerry you was a "sacrificial candidate".

Trump is a fawking moron. If the Republican party had stood up just about any other candidate then they would have won the election in a landslide.

The Democratic party is getting fractured by extreme socialists. Moderates and rational Democrats are ripe for the picking. The Republican party simply needs to jettison losing issues such as abortion and immigration and the Democratic party is DONE. Nikki Haley would be a great candidate in 2024.

agree.

So far biden is playing the centrist card. If he keeps that up the temper tantrums from super lefties like aoc are going to crack up their party better than any republican could dream of. Part of trump's problem was that he was really good at being something for them to unite against.

I think he's just doing it for show, being centrist that is. Once he's in he'll go full blown fucktard progressive.

I do agree with last comment and the left uniting

True, but the irony in many consider the 50s to be the best time in America. And by many metrics it was. The problem with the younger crowd is cancerous cancel culture and placing feelings over reality.

You're making a very common mistake that number of people here do, they think their views translate to what the majority of the voting public want. The election results make it obvious that's not true.

To be fair, the majority of the voting public is an intellectual embarrassment. How many can even state how they've personally suffered the past four years under Trump? They can't, at least not without regurgitating something about COVID or racism.

Very true. This country, unfortunately, has a long history of vilifying immigrants. There's even the total absurdity of second gen "americans" vilifying the next wave of immigrants. Stupid.

As of today, with the amount of suspicion hovering over the election, I see zero reason to vote in the future...

feel better!

Bill Barr is trusted by the President. He has examined the facts and says the election was fair. Get ready to vote, we need you in 2 years, 4 years etc.

There are plenty in the "younger crowd" that don't buy into cancel culture and misled realities. They also don't want someone pushing religious beliefs on them, or tell them if they can/can't have an abortion, or give a shit about whether they dike out with another chick when they get the urge.

The problem is that the US isn't the oil producer they were in the 50's so they can't provide the middle class that they could then.

That and the world hasn't leveled most of the industrial centers outside of the US recently either.

I still think alot of people just got sick of him. They got tired of the Twitter rants, they got tired of the name calling, they got tired of him acting like a child. The way he approaches everything is taxing. Doesn't matter how much good he did, people got sick of the crap that went along with it. It was his behavior not the media or the BLM or the protests or anything else.

Huh? The United States is the top oil producing country in the world. Most of the time, the US is also a net exporter of petroleum products.

As far as the "middle class" is concerned even the "lower class" people here are carrying around iPhones and enjoy myriad other luxuries.

You may be right but to actually cross party lines and vote for creepy Joe instead is something else entirely.

Very true. Most under 40 that I know of don't want the government, or anyone else, dictating to live how they can conduct their personal lives. Hell, many of the "over 40" feel that way too. I'm 68 y/o and I feel that way.

Most people that think the 1950's were the best times didn't live thru them and/or are looking at that decade thru "rose colored glasses". That decade was very oppressive as far as the intrusion of the government into peoples lives. I hope that era never returns.

"but that's a wasted vote"
as if any vote for the two party system isn't a wasted vote

You do realize a whole bunch of the voting public thinks you and others that think like you are an "intellectual embarrassment". Your comment cuts both ways.

The thing that amazes me is the people that didn't get tired of his petulance, I guess they enjoy being lied to.

And I agree with Eric that LEGAL immigration reform is what's needed. Kills a couple birds with one stone, it eliminates the Coyote's, and provided a labor force that we're lacking.
