I recall once at an autopsy where someone was burned to death. We leaned into the mic and asked if the pathologists wanted pizza for lunch, as the skin somewhat resembled the top melted cheese of a pizza. Everyone laughed.

Humor is a very common manner with which people respond to uncomfortable topics. I've seen plenty of death and dead bodies. I think the only time people don't joke, in my experience, is when it involves children. Once you see a dead child in person, everything else seems light in comparison.

When someone has their entire scalp torn off, their skull looks like a pizza that had the cheese pulled off. One of the craziest calls I ever went on and the only time I saw another firefighter puke.

The dude was sitting in a lawn chair smoking a cigs and drinking a 2 liter Mountain Dew. :laughing:

In 2008 I busted by skull, tore my scalp open, and found out the next day I had died.

in a dirty harry movie, when they were doing the autopsy, the pathologist calls harry over to look and harry says, 'do you have a clue?' and the guy says, 'yeah, harry, look (gestures to the gory head wound) it says 'eat at luigis' and harry's partner wretches...

I played baseball in college and when guys would get hurt it was all gallows humor....
 
If I was crazy enough to get on that sub, you bet your ass I would bring a drill with me, along with spare batteries.
Should it go sideways on us, I don't want to be forced to suffer gasping and dying of cold and lack of O2 while swimming in feces.
I'd fire up the Makita and get to work on the wall to let it all end quickly instead.

The Coast Guard has announced Thursday that a "debris field was discovered within the search area by an ROV near the Titanic.

"Experts within the unified command are evaluating the information," it added.

Underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) were deployed Thursday morning to search the Atlantic Ocean floor for OceanGate's Titan submarine, which vanished Sunday morning with five passengers onboard.

The Coast Guard earlier said the "Canadian vessel Horizon Arctic has deployed an ROV that has reached the sea floor and began its search for the missing sub."

The French vessel L'Atalante also deployed their ROV, it added.

You fat cats are always busting my balls because I can't afford your fancy toys.
I'm packing enough spares to drill to the center of the earth if needed, along with spare bits.
And maybe a grinder with spares, too. If any doubts at that point, bring along some C4 for a sure fire thing.

excellent idea. make them to play game as the 'saw' movie.

two choices; y'all die sooner, or commit suicide for others to have oxygen longer. The latter means others are to either dying/suffering longer (or futilely to have a chance to be found alive).
 
Well, guess they're out of business...

Who had hull failure for the cause? Cycling that non-certified port hole closure finally gave it up and made them all ghosts?
