Doing this 3 Link was a fun learning curve. I guess I'm no longer just a leaf spring guy, does my cool guy club sticker automatically ship to me? Or?? :flipoff2:
You have a smashed up first gen on leafs, that's your cool guy sticker!!!

I love it how your rental truck is setup with more bling parts than the non rental

This thing has snowballed a good amount from what I originally had in mind when I got the axles for it lol

My "Just wanting to get it going" turned into "well I may as well do it right if I am doing it"

Clearly:lmao:

Good progress this weekend. Battery mounted in the bed and wired, limit straps set up, shock hoop cross bar put in (how it's gonna clear the hood who knows :lmao:). Test drove it and it feels good, needs some tuning and shocks in the rear.

New oil pan in, and measuring for links

Great looking build! I'm about to swap out the 44 in the front of my 98 4runner buggy for a 99-04 Dana 60. Can you give me some details on what the oil pan came off off? Either part number or model and year would help.

Thanks!

I used this kit: https://lowrangeoffroad.com/taco-sas-oil-pan-conversion-kit.html

"The oil pan from the T-100 2.7 and 3.4 engines are a direct replacement fit for the 2.7 and the 3.4 Tacoma engines" according to them. Probably be the same for a4runner too

We'll see how long that little strip of sheet metal lasts.

If anyone has any fancy ways of better mounting these side lights let me know

Maiden street voyage went well. I need to bleed the power steering more, and stiffen up the front springs. I have a slight wobble in the steering around 35-40mph when not on the gas (My speedo is for sure off). Tires are pretty low on air so ill start there.

One week until JV with the fam. Got the winch mounted and wired up, some lights and of course led whips so people know that i'm a big fuggin deal :flipoff2:

Still need to do:
Rear shocks and bumps
paint
tool box and tools
bleed the steering more
sliders
rear bumper
hood (Optional for before thanksgiving)
some more misc items

I zip tie my side lights and tail lights in, just pull em before hitting the trail and then throw em back on for street driving. The tail lights and marker lights add up $$$ after killing a few from wheeling

I know the pain all too well from the '81, rocks and front bumpers of buddies rigs are the #1 predators of my rear tail lights

Stealing the zip tie idea

Hood fit on "perfect" after moving the resi, also got the sliders and rear shocks & bumps burned in, also moving away from ammo cans bolted in the bed to the fancy packouts. Got a deal to lock them down on the way, can't trust folks out in the Dez anymore :shaking:

Probably covered… why the 14” spacers on the rear “I’m already eleventy yards wide” axle?

Damn I'm at 5600 on mine, I guess all the toob adds a lot. See you on the lakebed!
Yeah once it's caged it's gonna put on a couple more pounds, I'm gonna hybrid exo it like yours and my '81, too tall for an interior cage lol

See you out there!

I've looked into it a little bit, but anyone have any tech info on lowering a seat?:grinpimp:
I cut out the stock seat mounts and made some lower profile mounts. Saved me about and inch. Also purchased some buckets that had a smaller distance between mounting surface and seat.

Ironic since there are companies built around raising the seats…

Switching to something non-stock may help. My PRP Daily drivers feel lower than stock. I actually do not like them because of that

Don't they typically just raise the front of the seat?

If there is one thing I hate about toyotas, it's the sitting on the floor seating position. Even suzukis give you a truck style seating.

But ya, if I was 1" taller, I don't know if I'd be very comfortable in a toyota.
