I'm not saying that things are peachy keen at all. They only watch fox so all they get is that side of things. They don't have any centrist people to get info from that isn't myself or my brothers. It's all hard right wing these days for them which sure as fuck beats the alternative by a million light years. If they were fully fucktarded I would have far, FAR less interaction with them. I think the biggest issue is journalists weren't commies back when they grew up, so they are just having a hard time believing the "news" they are being fed is full blown Marxist.

they were commies but they pretended not to be. and there was only 3 channels and they controlled that, the radio, and the newspaper. unless you met a newsperson in real life, how would you know they were commies if they hid it well?

Compared to MSNBC or CNN yea fox is hard right wing. Not exactly puritanical evangelists but it's still a myopic view if that's the only place you get your information.


I'm a centrist in that I realize everyone in the media is a liar for their own reasons. 15 years ago I was always listening to right wing radio (SiriusXM so it was 24/7 cycle) and one day I switched over to left wing to see what they had to say. It only took a few minutes to realize they were both 100% cherry picking whatever fit their narrative and agenda at the moment. I haven't watched the news or listened to "news" shows since that day.


No .gov is a great pipe dream that can never become a reality unless 90% of the population dies. We still need the .gov and .fed in some fashion but it has grown exponentially out of control these days.

There was a documentary on the Gestapo files in some medium-sized German city, which had survived the war. The researchers were surprised at how few gestapo agents there were and were even more surprised to see how much they relied on informants and reports from the general population. Those archives were full of petty denunciations.

A year or so before COVID my parents sold the farm and moved to a retirement age trailer park. Stupid nice place for what it is and their place is set up for entertaining large numbers of people so naturally that's where we would go for events. Anyway during the lockdown bullshit my mom asked their neighbors if they were going to turn them into the gestapo and every one of them said hell no but you'd better invite us too. :laughing:

But anyway she watches fox news religiously now.. and she commented on teh phone earlier today that she's seeing a difference in teh white house press corps talking to the black cabbage patch doll. They're asking harder questions lately apparently.. and she noticed it.. They're not as gung ho leftist like they typically have been.
She said maybe they're actually being more centrist or fair and mentioned it to me (I don't watch the news really) and i said well maybe the media realizes the sleeping giant is waking up from other media sources and if they want a job in the future maybe they better stop the propaganda and actually ask tough questions. I might be totally wrong but one can hope.

Far left vp chooses farther left white governor from a non-swing and non-contested state. A state that has attached itself to California - if CA passes emissions/green stuff, MN adopts it by law. The only state that didn’t go to Reagan in 84…

What is she gaining?

And what is the DNC’s game plan? Walz over Newsome in 28?

Burn them both and accept the loss and run who they really want in 28? I do think she can actually win with how stupid and willfully ignorant most of the people I know are choosing to be about her. Maybe they’re rolling the dice, if she wins oh well, if she loses then the problem took care of it’s self
 
City of Alb tore up medians on route 66, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars caused all kijnds of traffic tie ups, old specialty stores out of bussiness, because customers couldn't find a place to park, putting in a special lane for electric bus travel. On they triumphant unvailing politions and community leaders and the press all boarded for a ride, and IIRC they got about 3 miles and they all had to be picked up by diesel powered busses and taken back as city mechanics tried to figure out how they were going to get the busses back to their charger
