SXII Stickies.....

47 is the next jump up from 40 for the LTB. SXII had 42 and 45. SX has 43.

I have ran 31 LTB, 34/9.5 TSL, 34 LTB, 36 TSL, 40 LTB. The new buggy has new, non-stickie 47 LTB. No stickies as of yet

Saw these bad chickens in person last night. But were a few weeks away still from this rig driving.

Any update on these? Thinking about picking up a set.

Sticky Thailand tire update: purchaed from Interco 4/24, 16-40-17 LTBs

I Just finished a 3 day wheeling weekend in Northern Maine with a fresh set of 16-40-17 Stickey LTBs; I feel a review is in order with pertainent info included. These were installed on a Terraflex D60d, Atlas, 4.0, 32RH equipt TJ, with ARBs and 4.56s. All steel body, and Genright steel fenders, boat sides, and family cage. My driving style is mostly slow crawling in the dry with throttle appropriate to situation and moisture. I’ll add that I dont “warm” the tires by white smoking them on the rocks as some people do with the closed cells.
I ran into a front locker issue the 1st day so I had an open front, but the tires still impressed for 3 wheel drive and mild wheeling. Friday was mostly spent in light terrain and some moist underbrush. I also was breaking in a new rig with some teething problems. Tire psi was set @ 5.5 on my TR 17” beadlocks. The 2nd morning we found a twisted ARB copper line in the front chunk so that was quickly repaired and off we went for the day. I reset tire psi @ 4.5 based on what I saw the day prior. 4.5 worked well but I had maybe a little too much wrinkle for comfort and susceptible possible pinch, I think 5 will be the number in the future; though 4.5 worked well.
Up against sticky Mickeys, and BFG reds the LTBs held their own, I was pretty happy based on the closed cell VS open cell comparison, discussion and conversations. Terrain over the 3 days was mixed, roots, steep, rocks, mud, typical New England wheeling. On the very steep climbs I expected a little more but I havent scaled my jeep yet and my spare, tire psi, and rear overhang weight could have played a factor. But, this is comparing the LTBs to Sticky Treps, and Reds on day 3. Looking at the std bias tires and the other stickies in our group I feel the LTBs, are maybe 90-95% of the what the sticky closed cell tires are and noticeably much better then the std bias tires. All my leading edges were worn and feathered from the weekend but no chunks for dramatic carcass issues. I will add a slight caveat to my review that I cut the tires because my pattern was a vast improvement on my bias SXs, so I threw caution to the wind.

These aren't stickys, but this seems to be the thread getting the most action on these tires.

Anyone have anything to say about the 47 ltb vs the 45 sx2? Both are on the blem list for a similar price and are still tempting me. They would be on a heavier rig with double bead locks. So ultra low pressure would be OK if that's what it takes.

oooo man interco has blem 47 ltb and 45 sx2, both in non sticky rubber.....real tempting....but again, bigger doesnt mean better than me current dot 40" nittos?
