What's new

SLOWPOKE goes wheeling in a golfcart!

No wheeling last weekend but I did finish up the SATV skidplate and installed a couple of parts from Full Access UTV that came in on Saturday. Their seat recliner kit was well worth the $20 and makes the seats much more tolerable. The fuel tank breather install was also easy peasy and so were the shock mount stiffener kits. Other than a winch, roll cage tubing and some other little things its close to done for what I want to do with it.

The wife and I took it for a 55 mile back road country cruise on Sunday that was pretty fun. It's crazy how far we can get away from the house without ever going near a main road or highway. :smokin:

It just hit 120 miles so it's going to get it's first service this week.

The roof on the stock cage makes it worse too. I used a mesh top on my cagewrx cage and it is noticeably quieter without all the engine noise reflecting back down into the cab.
I put some of that eva foam boat flooring on my buggy roof. Made a noticeable difference on the sound bouncing around the cab and looks good like a real headliner.

Those fuckers from Classic Powersports, the place with the $19,995 advertised price that was $25K plus OTD with some ugly ass aftermarket wheels, keeps calling me and leaving me messages to call them back so we can "work out a deal" on the KRX I was intrested in. I'm still into this one with all the added accessories I put on recently for less than their OTD price. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes... :lmao:

My wife took it for a ride out in the field at dusk and got a little to throttle happy turning left and sent it for a ride. Passenger side hit the ground first then the RF tire dug in and flipped it over again onto the drivers side door. This happened 2min after I got done arguing with her about wearing the full harness and not just the lap belt.

Other than the door bar that's bent and some body brackets it's mostly fine. Though about calling insurance but I think I'll just fix it myself and deal with it. Wife is feeling guilty enough today that I can probably order a cage and 35" Rockzillas without question. :lmao: I started stripping it down last night

Tomorrow's trip to Bridgeport to go wheeling is going to be intresting.

I like your thought process. Time to throw on some 35" zillas and a cage and find out just how ridiculously good these things are at climbing dumb shit. :grinpimp:

That's pretty much the plan now. I'm going to throw it back together this afternoon minus the nose and take it wheeling in Bridgeport tomorrow so I can meet up with pinchegringo and check out his new build. :smokin:

Well the new is definitely knocked off the KRX and glad you convinced her on the full harnesses!

Never let a crisis go to waste... With most of the body work stripped off and getting a better look at the frame i can now see ways to improve on a cage design by adding A pillar brace bars from the A pillar down to this bar under the dash. I could probably hide a 1.5" tube clamp in there easily so that the cage can still be removable.

And instead of running the windshield /\ bars down to a piece of tubing across the dash that blocks your view like all these aftermarket cages have, I can cut holes in the dash where my finger is and run the bars directly to the stock dash bar that's just above the front shock tower stiffening the front of the chassis up....

That sounds like a plan, probably saved you some time when it comes to cage design.

Does she have black eyes? Going inverted with boobs that size is risky.

Spent some time putting it back together so we can go wheeling tomorrow. Minus the missing headlights it doesn't look bad from 10' away. Drives fine and nothing in the suspension is bent so fuggit.

For the bent door latch bar problem I ended up bending it back using a stick of 1.5" .095 cromo tubing I had on hand. It bent back without tearing any metal so it's good enough for now.

All I really need to order is two front fender/headlight support bars and two rear quarter support bars and it will be back to it's mostly original self with lots of new scratches and dents.

Mental note: DO NOT let my wife drive it ever again.:confused:
