What's new

SLOWPOKE goes wheeling in a golfcart!

I'm going to do the drill and tap method to keep it cheap.

Edit: I think I have 4 stock shock caps from the Talon somewhere around here that I swapped out for a set of Schmidtty Racing caps.

Welcome to the recreational sxs party!

Anybody have a link to the Schrader valves I need to upgrade the resivoir caps on the shocks? I'll do that first thing to make sure I don't develop sag problems.
I lied to you, did this last week for my buddy's 21 model.
So 35's,skids,res caps

Class 1 also has nice KRX stuff

I blame all you guys that post awesome pictures of your adventures in the SxS picture thread. It looks way more fun than going to the same track repeatedly with a 1 trick pony SxS so here we are.... The Honda isn't going anywhere and I'll still race it when it's back together, the KRX will be for family and friends time.

It's fucking weird getting old....:lmao:

Its extremely weird getting old. I enjoy the shit out of the KRX. Just farting around on back roads and being in the woods, kind of replaced my Dual sports and dirt bikes. PLus the wife loves it.
I mean i love the buggy but there is only so much buggy stuff within a couple of hours. Farther than that it becomes a weekend trip and then it becomes an "event" and getting a couple of peoples schedule to line up is a pain. I miss the shit out of racing but not the endless hours of prep and getting home at daylight.

Congrats on the purchase I am sure you will enjoy it. Again they are slow hot and loud but still fun.

The stock caps I drilled and tap for a dude here at work I just used all brass schraders from NAPA. All four were like $12.
1/8"NPT.

here you go SLOWPOKE693

I ordered all this stuff last night minus the skidplate and mirrors. I'll order a skid plate sometime next week once the dust settles.

Summit Racing had brass Schrader valves for a decent price so those are coming too.

Time for ducks in the JK :lmao::flipoff2:

Have you order the SxS required LED whips, rock lights, giant stereo, pack outs and yeti?????

I make fun of the guys on the Honda Talon forum about the pack outs. How much shit do these guys think one needs to bring with them on a god damn trail ride?!?! I tell them I know guys that race KOH and bring less shit with them than they do. :lmao:

Check back when you are 5 hours into a 90 mile ride....

They pass out white claws and twisted tea.

Whips are so out of date. The raging fucksticks now go to goddamn sky lightsabers.

These are the same POS’s that have their full-surround toy hauler LED lights on all night. Because everyone wants to have their space invaded by not only loud bro country and mariachi music, but also your fucking laser light display bragging that you had access to $50 and a Tractor Supply.

That is as gay as aids. :shaking:

I definitely bring some stuff with me. But it goes into the plastic tote I happened to have hanging around the shop that got bolted into the bed. Fuck $300 worth of pack outs with a bunch of space-consuming walls…
No regrets with the dry box I built, I would love to have done it for $300, good thing my labor is so cheap

If it takes 5hrs to go 90 miles there had better be some big ass rocks in the way. Or maybe you need a KRX. :flipoff2:

Other than having a small tool roll with tire plugs and maybe a spare tire, what else could possibly be needed?
Honestly riding in Texas, nothing is needed, you are 15 minutes from the truck.

It's the National forest system that requires the gear.

I have my M18 compressor in a wolfman bag behind the pass seat. Then a small pelican case in the back with a small tool roll, tire plugs, etc. I usually strap the Stihl down on top of it.

Do these eat air filters like Talons do or are the air inlets located in a decent spot to keep the dust out?

But what else are you bringing besides basic tools, a spare belt and recovery gear? Anything else seems like a waste unless you have a pile of spare parts too.

*And a cooler

Tool roll, 18v air pump, rain gear x2, recovery rings, soft shackles,
waterproof blanket roll, and food.

With my box I have plenty of room for it all, even divided compartments but all in one box.
And this thing is pack mule for me and my son on motos as well as the wife/daughter.
Of course I have a cooler too, and drinks for 4. I will usually drink my camelbak on long ride so there's extra water and a soda for me.

they arent too hard on filters. The air intake is actually the frog skin by the roll bar.
I swapped my stocker out at 300 miles for a Uni and I have needed to clean the Uni yet at 1200 miles.

Good to hear! The Talons need air filters every few hundred miles and get expensive to maintain unless you install a pre filter kit.
