What's new

SLOWPOKE goes wheeling in a golfcart!

Second dealers quote still doesn't have me convinced I need one. It was advertised online at $21,199 "No dealer fees!! No games!!" so I showed up and asked for an OTD price with 3.5% financing through Kawasaki because they have special rates right now. He hands me that quote and says if I use Kawasaki financing I lose a $1000 rebate and the price goes to $22,199. Wut? But apparently if I buy in to their crazy ass 14.99% finance charge that's at the bottom of that quote crossed out I can have it for the original price. Um, maybe it's just me but that sure sounds like a fucking game..... :shaking:
the 3.5% is a good rate for a toy....

UTV dealers are the new used car dealers.....

Since OP is "laid up" I'd be scouring copart for one that needs a new cage...

Buying a used one for $18k doesn't seem that appealing.

I'm not buying anything wrecked or used. I want to get in this thing and go have fun, not save 2k and get sombody else's pile of shit or spend months locating parts and fixing shit.

I like what you do with a blank slate:beer:

I love the look of KRX's and almost bought one instead of my Honda when I was looking originally but couldn't pass up the deal I got on the Honda so i went with that. The KRX would have been the way wrong car to build into a short course race car so I'm glad I didn't at the time.

Block for my Honda should be back today. It took waaaay longer than I was told it would, but at least it's done.

Another thing that took me by surprise was the actual frame/cage/bumper color of the KRX I looked at. It's not white like it looks in pictures and is actually a very light gray. Doesn't matter much, just surprised me when I saw it.

I did the same thing, looked bright blue online and in person its teal :barf::barf: Still need to paint my swing arms.
The blue and black ones look great, they have some metal flake in the blue. If I did it over I would just buy the stripped base model and add what I wanted. I know that not an option if you want the live valve.

I've been thinking about getting a KRX more and more lately now that short course racing has all but died out around here and one of the localish dealers has a white 2024 ES model that caught my eye and is discounted enough that I might not be able to resist buying it. Plan would be to use it for weekend camping adventures going scenic trail riding and mild rock crawling with the wife.
But
A year ago my wifes nicely built 16 JKUR was worth over $27k in trade and I wanted to ditch it and get her something new but she didn't want to give it up. Fast forward to two weeks ago and she tells me she wants a new car and the Jeep is now worth around $15-17k. :shaking: I told her sorry for her luck and that at that price I'll be keeping it and using it as a wheeler before it ever gets traded in.
wheel her JKUR :flipoff2:

Maybe you can use this as bargaining chip

keefers where i got mine has the base models on facespace for $15999.

I just texted my sales guy and told him I'm intrested but the 1k add on for using Kawasaki financing makes no sense especially with the "No games, no hidden fees" line from the ad. We shall see...

that $19k for the ES at YPK is the cheapest ES I have seen in this area. OTD is probably 29k :homer:

He's on board with knocking the $1k off if I do something today so I told him to get the paperwork ready and email it over. :smokin:
was that off the list price? ask to knock additional $1k in "Other Extras and Fees" off...

But that's me, as I despise salespeople.

I 100% will negotiate/won't pay unless they can itemize & convince me where the $1,000 comes from.

Also, read the fine print before you sign papers! I wonder will you be able to save $ as I did with my first dealership-purchased car eliminating "fees" and any other BS.

It's on sale and is less OTD with tax and paperwork fee than it lists for. No freight charge BS, no handling fee BS, no added accessory BS. Every dealer I called from here to OKC with a good price wasn't a good price once they added all the hidden BS fees they don't tell you about up front.

I hope you are not expecting much. Besides a winch, a simple cage and the necessary skids ect mentioned in this thread I don't plan on doing anything to it but maintenance and enjoying the shit out of it. I can see tossing the KRX and dogs in the trailer and taking off to go camping/wheeling a few weekends a month at any number of a million places, and this setup also makes a trip to KOH possible if we decide we need to go in the future.

Your a bad influence lol

I blame all you guys that post awesome pictures of your adventures in the SxS picture thread. It looks way more fun than going to the same track repeatedly with a 1 trick pony SxS so here we are.... The Honda isn't going anywhere and I'll still race it when it's back together, the KRX will be for family and friends time.

It's fucking weird getting old....:lmao:
