Shopping for a concealable Pistol

Take your time with a stone while you have it apart.

Still factory grips on mine, seems most folks get the vz grips

I thought about it, but never did, the stock grips on the regular 365s feel small, but I can shoot them fine.

Wilson is a hair wider..so fits good....the texture is more aggressive also..figure it would help in desert heat should I need to pull it

I pretty much just cleaned up the edges, and everywhere things move.

That, a lil oil an the spring kit makes it a very different gun.

The main thing to clean up is the rebound slide. The bottom and side surfaces slide against the frame and cover plate.

Then the sides of the hammer, but it doesn't need much.

You could even lay a sheet of 2000 grit paper on a confirmed flat/hard surface (like a glass sheet) and polish the surfaces that way. Or if you have a fine or ultra-fine stone that works too. Use oil and VERY light pressure.

This was my wife's first time shooting mine, very little experience. After going to the range again, I'm pretty sure it was 7 and 10 yards, not 5 and 7. Also, I'm pretty sure that wild one was from that stupid 38

Also, fwiw. I picked up a TLR-7 SUB and four bros holster for my macro. Really like the light a lot.

I fucked up ordering and have the wing deal coming to push the grip towards me. That's the one thing that seems to print when I'm just in a tee shirt.

Compared to the 365xl in the alien holster, it's much more slim, but the padded alien wear is nicer when sitting for long periods of time.
I use a LH holster (I carry differently), had to grind a little of the holster away as it would occasionally depress the mag release, unseating but not dropping the mag. Also installed suppressor height sights to co-witness. Only gripe about the entire system is that the Macro-X is just slightly snappy. Not sure if the slide porting makes any difference. Compared to my G30 this thing feels, carries and shoots great and is so, so much thinner. I did swap the Larger grip section for the smaller one.

oh an its been a while, but seems like there was a secret spring in the top edge of the trigger that is easy to not know about. It makes your revolver not a revolver if you dont hook it back up. Took me a while to figure that one out. Just FYI

Snappy compared to a fullsize? I'd imagine, but I feel like it's very controllable. I also shoot whatever cheap stuff I can find.

Will it run steel case?

I have a cz that will shoot whatever you stuff in the thing unless it is a steel case. an then it just isnt goona happen

I'm surprised the cz doesn't like steel case also. All I hear is that they are as reliable as anything out there.

If they make something more comparable to the 365, I'd like to give it a try.

Closest thing CZ has is the RAMI. handled a couple and don't really care for them and I am a pretty big CZ fan.
Love my P01, but never tried steel or aluminum cased ammo with it. Mainly shoot S&B also Czech made
Didn't care for the P10C either, felt too much like a glock and I prefer double single action pistols to striker fired.

I've maybe 10k rounds through it, and Thats the only thing that I have found to make that gun malfunction. Anymore I just keep the 22 Kadet slide on it

Went shooting with my father in law the other day.

He had a hellcat pro and a kimber r7 mako.

I only shot like 15 rounds or so through the hellcat, but right away I hated the trigger. It actually hurt my finger with the little "safety" thing. It also seemed more snappy than my 365s despite being the same size or larger. I wasn't very accurate with it, but I didn't give it much of a shot with the trigger sucking so much.

The Kimber I shot maybe 30 rounds through. It seemed to have a very light trigger. I'd almost say it might be a better trigger than the 365, but at least equal. The last 10 rounds or so, I seemed to be getting fairly accurate with it. It was definitely way snappy as well. I don't care for the tiny grip personally, but I know some people don't mind it.

My father in law shot both of mine and said he thought they had a better trigger than his 2.

Not sure if this will help anyone, but figured I'd throw it out there. Like people said before I bought mine. Go shoot the damn things, what works better for one guy may not for the next.

Edit: oh, and I shot the 38 with the magic spring, it still sucks :flipoff2:

I had a similar experience when I bought my 365XL. Shot it, the Hellcat, Glock 43X and M&P Shield side by side and Hellcat felt more snappy as well as not as nice feel on the trigger. Shield wasn't more snappy, but trigger was meh. Glock felt a little snappy but trigger was okay - overall, it was a close second to the Sig.

I think that's what's nice about the current market of these subcompact 9s. They're all pretty killer, I'm honestly not sure if you can go wrong with any of them. Even the Taurus has a lot of good reviews.

That is true. I have been kind of thinking though, about accuracy in a panic moment.

Dual action triggers seem to be less accurate than singles. Am I the only one thinking that? Not in the weapon, in the person shooting.

For me quick draw, or even target shooting, the long stroke of the dual action triggers, or the pressure requirements is just too much and I am less accurate.

The nice thing about striker fire guns is that they're always the same. I guess a single action would be also, as long as you're OK with carrying cocked and locked?

The other option is the hand full of guns with the so called precocked striker, hk, Walther and canik are the ones I know of.

If I get bored with my stuff, I'd like to try a canik at some point.

Taurus has the same type of trigger...

What is the trigger mechanism on a Taurus G3c?

The G3 series from Taurus uses a Two-Stage trigger system. The Two-Stage trigger is a more common trigger system in defensive pistols on the market. The Two-Stage system allows the gun to utilize a lighter trigger pull and still pass the drop safe procedures, with or without an external safety.Aug 6, 2022

What is the trigger pull weight on a Taurus G3c?

In total, the first-strike trigger pull averaged just 5 pounds, 15 ounces with zero overtravel. Follow-up shots, double-strikes and reset trigger pulls averaged a consistent 6 pounds, 9 ounces.Jul 7, 2020

Don't they call it a DAO? Dual Action Operation.

I just know it is like squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze

Bang.

Rather than Single action. squ Bang. LOL

I have tried custom triggers, short stroke triggers in a few of my carry guns, definitely made improvements over stock. But still nothing like, Safety off and blow on the trigger and BANG.

You think a person would get used to it, but thousands and thousands of rounds and I still pull the first few shots.

Something like a revolver or a 1911 style gun, I never have that problem. Less time to pull it off target when squeezing, less time to shake, or rattle around in your own thoughts.

Maybe I am the only person having that problem.

But then I get bored as well and am always looking for reasons to buy new guns.

I carried PT-111 Pro 2 for years, predecessor to the G2/G3, has the same trigger as well. It's not too bad at all.

I also have the full size G3 and a G3C T.O.R.O. with an optic. All dead nuts reliable thus far.

For the price point hard to beat. Can be found for around $250 everywhere.

Having said all that, I also have a P365 and yeah... it's a Sig lol, so feels better.

Tiha.

Definitely not a single action for sure lol. And trying to ride the reset interesting. But if you have to pull it in defense I'm sure adrenaline will help with the pull lol.

Thats one of the things I dislike about my CZp01. I have shot the shit out of that gun, and yet the 2 different trigger pulls just bug me. The decocker is also on the list of things I dont like.

Ambidextrous safety's on all guns also bug me

Honestly I don't think I want a much lighter trigger for a defense gun, even with a manual safety.

The sig trigger may not be super light, but it's crisp and consistent. Like anything, practice, practice.

Heck, there are guys claiming they shoot the da only s&w revovers well, I can not hardly hit anything with that stupid thing. But I'm sure if I went out and shot 500 rounds through it, I'd be at least decent.

This is why they make different guns :flipoff2:
