We headed to Lake Havasu, AZ for the final Ultra4 race of the season.

Yep, KOH 2024 was awesome! The car did great and Hunter is fast.

Just bench racing here but it seems like everything you could do to strip weight and gear it a little taller would make a huge difference. Caire and Bentley that got 1 and 2nd in stock class are 2 of my good friends kids... I suppose I could ask them. Actually there is a semi decent chance Bentleys car will be mines first. Hes already been offered to use it but is to shy to speak up.

Yea, I am going to start messing with the gearing and try to get it faster.

Just got back from the Ultra4 Kentucky race. Hunter had a great time and there was no issues with the car all weekend. The car also got a new wrap for the 2024 season.

Yes, I had a Carr 204, racing against Carr 232’s GTfOH. Then local guy did a 170 chassis and Leonard did a 247 long rod, fucking thing was insane for a 170. Not insane for what 247 cc’s on 113 should get you but way fast for kid Chinese gocart stuff.

I am going to start adjusting the gearing to get quicker acceleration on starts and coming out of corners. New 11 tooth countershaft sprocket and 4 rear sprocket options. I am also doing new wheel bearings and billet rear locknuts.

Just got my kid a 170. It's stock other than a lonestar swingarm and steel doors. He's 10 so it will probably only fit him for a couple years but we're mostly desert/dune people so maybe we can cram him in there for the next 3 desert seasons.

I hear people are using 450 shocks front and rear as a low cost alternative to Elkas or Walkers. The front arms are a bit tweaked so was thinking about some cognito arms. Am I gonna kill a busload of nuns with that setup? Really trying to spend as little as possible until he decides he loves it.

No matter how you slice it it is a glorified Chinese go kart so don’t expect to do much at the dunes with it. We put my son in the RS1 in my avatar just after he turned 11. Still rocking it

Sounds good. The ltr450 fronts in the rear is a common upgrade. Some people are also using the Raptor 660 shocks and kfx700 shocks.

The Cognito suspension stuff is really nice. We run Cognito front suspension and steering.

Yeah, we camp at the small dunes and the kids just ride around camp mostly. With skat trak paddles they do a lot better than the heavy molded paddles.

Gonna check out those LTR shocks for the rear.

He was 7 when we got it for him. He would taxi people around at races lol.

His first race he was still 7. It was the 918 Race at MidAmerica.
