The Federal Security Service

The Federal Security Service (FSB) is a federal executive body with the authority to implement government policy in the national security of the Russian Federation, counterterrorism, the protection and defence of the state border of the Russian Federation, the protection of internal sea waters, the territorial sea, the ...

Is Redstate even a reliable news source? Honest question. Why would the Kremlins secret service be taking out the Kremlins PMC's? Makes no sense.
They said anti-war elements within the FSB, so it's those who don't want this war to happen and probably are using back channel communication versus telling them officially.

Doesn't seem back channel now.... looks like the cemetery just took down their vacancy sign

Or is Ukraine just saying the FSB tipped them off to sow discord and confusion in the enemy intelligence service? :stirthepot:

I'm surprised at the Russian military "incompetence" and wonder if it's for real or just a show. Also surprised by Ukraine's level of resistance.

Huh. Elon has been poking the bear essentially taunting Russia with Starlink support in Ukraine, and noting it's currently the only available internet service in Ukraine due to cyber attacks and jamming of all other services. It looks like many of those tweets were deleted, but one of the latest was "Game on" indicating that Starlink/SpaceX began getting attacked as well. As of the last 15 minutes, It looks like he's reprioritized a large chunk of SpaceX personnel to combat that. Considering the capabilities of the software engineers he has on hand...it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

The military incompetence is really not that surprising. Russian military training for the regular army has always been historically poor. Sure some guys are well trained and the spetsnaz and other special troops are but the regular army almost always got only basic basic training.

Speaking of Elon.

Elon Musk voiced an unusual stance for an electric-vehicle executive on Friday.

Tesla Inc.’s TSLA, -0.12% chief executive said the U.S. needs to immediately increase production of oil and gas in a tweet late Friday, which runs against the grain of the EV maker’s own green-energy business initiatives.

“Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil & gas output immediately,” Musk tweeted Friday. “Extraordinary times demand extraordinary measures,” he said.

Does the world realize how much oil related products it takes to make stuff, even Tesla's? I would love to see the taps shut off for a month so people could see how much oil provides to this clown world :clown:

Stuff like this makes me think that Putin is really holding back. He's playing a long game, not with Ukraine, with the West. Why reveal to the West what your military is actually capable of to "conquer" a country with a much, much weaker military?

with the current cease fire and humanitarian corridors I imagine they will declare that anyone left in the cities is a combatant and then we see the actual bombing begin.

the flip side to passing out AKs to your civilian population during a war is that now they're not civilians.
