Biden makes surprise visit to Ukraine for first time since full-scale war began

It was easier getting him to go to Ukraine that it was getting him to stop by Trump's wall one time. He probably had to hand deliver his account number for deposits, can't risk a paper trail.

White House gave Russia advanced notice of Biden’s ‘surprise’ Ukraine visit, cites ‘deconfliction purposes’

February 20, 2023 | Melissa Fine |

The White House gave Russian officials “some hours” of advanced warning that President Joe Biden would be visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv to mark the upcoming one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion.
The heads-up was an effort to avoid escalating tensions with Moscow, The Hill reports.
White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan confirmed the notification to reporters on Monday.

“We did notify the Russians that President Biden would be traveling to Kyiv,” Sullivan said. “We did so some hours before his departure for deconfliction purposes.”
As American Wire News reported, Biden made an unannounced stop in Ukraine’s capital to reaffirm the United States’ “unwavering and unflagging” support for the war-torn nation.

“As the world prepares to mark the one-year anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, I am in Kyiv today to meet with President Zelenskyy and reaffirm our unwavering and unflagging commitment to Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” Biden said in an official statement.
“Today, in Kyiv, I am meeting with President Zelenskyy and his team for an extended discussion on our support for Ukraine. I will announce another delivery of critical equipment, including artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems, and air surveillance radars to help protect the Ukrainian people from aerial bombardments,” the statement continued. “And I will share that later this week, we will announce additional sanctions against elites and companies that are trying to evade or backfill Russia’s war machine.”
Sullivan called the trip “historic,” but did not comment on Moscow’s response.
“This was a historic visit, unprecedented in modern times, to have the president United States visit the capital of the country of war, where the United States military does not control the critical infrastructure,” he told reporters.

According to James Hohmann of The Washington Post, Sullivan stated that Biden wanted to make the trip to Kyiv to send a “clear message” of support.
“Jake Sullivan says Biden really wanted to go ‘to send a clear, unmistakable message of enduring American support,'” Hohmann reported on Twitter. “He felt that risk had been brought to a manageable level. The trip was not a celebration but an affirmation that the US will support Ukraine as long as it takes.”

“Over the last year, the United States has built a coalition of nations from the Atlantic to the Pacific to help defend Ukraine with unprecedented military, economic, and humanitarian support – and that support will endure,” Biden’s statement read.
According to Anton Gerashchenko, advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, “Russian propagandists” are claiming Moscow helped to make Biden’s visit happen.

“Turns out, it was Russia that allowed and even helped Biden arrive to Kyiv,” Gerashchenko quipped, posting a subtitled video of “Russian propagandists” discussing his visit.

“Has someone given a security guarantee?” asked one of the panel.
“I think someone gave guarantees and I’m pretty sure someone did,” another said.
“Did we?” the co-host asked.
“We did,” the other responded.
When asked why, the Russian claimed, “You know, we could have destroyed Biden, but that would have been completely…”
“So, destroying Biden is too much,” the first said, “but threatening [Russian President Vladimir] Putin is okay, blowing up the Nord Stream is okay, too?”
The “propagandist” gave a “logical” response.
“So, if we destroy Biden, who will replace him?” he asked. “Kamala Harris?”
“Biden, in spite of all his dementia, at least has his senses and some restraints,” he said, “whereas she has no restraints at all. That’s what [Secretary of State Antony] Blinken and Sullivan tell her, that’s what she’ll do. She has absolutely no opinion of her own.”
“The only thing is,” he continued, “I think [Biden] should fly in a helicopter, as he usually does, and have our planes escort him to Kyiv. It certainly would have been more impressive.”

Oh come on man, we've got to keep the world chained up beneath us.
Cheap consumer goods manufacturing in foreign shitholes depends on the existence of foreign shitholes with dirt poor peasants.
That sounds good to yourself when you say it but I would offer that the model, the reality of what China, South Korea and more recently Viet Nam have accomplished does not fit that mold. Post war Japan and on and on. Some places are shit holes because they are. And we may use them as our fuck u bus but thats because they are fucked. Central America, yes we fuck them up and fuck them. But it is not a universal success story on our part. The result of our influence is not that simple and absolute as you say.

We just aren't encouraging fair and equitable justice well enough in those areas of the world. Once we help the local freedom fighters topple their hateful illegitimate regimes and allow them to elect Jimmy Johnson (formerly of Pfizer) to run their country they'll see true freedom from terrorism and economic strife!

Remember when Biden was VP under Obama and was tasked with Ukraine policy. Starts a war to give em 100 billion as soon as he becomes president. Hunter Biden getting paid from old guard Ukrainians during the time inbetween. Oh look, balloons.

Started reading this thread on page 305, probably hashed that out already.

I'm finding it rather funny hearing the US tell China they better not support Russia with deadly weapons......cause that would hurt our relations.

How the fuck do these idiots think China looks at what we're doing with Ukraine? There's no difference. It's a text book case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Just think what we could have done spending 100 billion on the southern border? We could have a bullet proof glass wall where you could take your kids right to the border and let them see real Mexicans in their natural habitat.

You sound like a fascist that doesn't have the ukraine flag next to his name on the unified social platform META. Why do you hate america and subvert its values by not falling into line with the peoples revolution (sponsored by our corporate overlords) against our corporate overlords?

Ukraine had no air raid sirens for 5 days until Biden walked out for photo op, CNN reporter noted

February 21, 2023 | Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

A CNN reporter noted the oddity of no sirens in Ukraine for five days until President Biden made a surprise visit to the wartorn country and took a stroll with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in downtown Kyiv, making it increasingly appear as though the whole thing was staged.

CNN’s Alex Marquardt reported, “I’ve been here for the past five days. I have not heard any explosions. I have not heard any air sirens, until about half an hour ago, right when President Biden was in the center of Kyiv.”

Even Reuters contended there was no reason for the sirens to blare, “Air raid sirens blared across the Ukrainian capital as Biden visited Kyiv, although there were no reports of Russian missile or air strikes.”

The Biden administration gave Russia advance notice that the president would be visiting Ukraine for “deconfliction purposes.” It is also worth pointing out that when the sirens went off, no one even flinched much less ran for cover.

If there had been a threat, it is unlikely the Secret Service would have allowed Biden to continue his stroll with Zelenskyy. It is also highly unlikely it was a drill that just happened to occur while the president was taking a walk downtown.

The trip to Ukraine’s capital on Monday was made just ahead of the one-year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of the country.

Photos are circulating of the president walking alongside Zelenskyy close to St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery in the center of the city while inspecting a memorial wall dedicated to those killed fighting Russian troops since 2014.

Biden confirmed the visit on Twitter, “As we approach the anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, I’m in Kyiv today to meet with President Zelenskyy and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.”

“When Putin launched his invasion nearly one year ago, he thought Ukraine was weak and the West was divided. He thought he could outlast us. But he was dead wrong,” the president grandstanded.

“Over the last year, the United States has built a coalition of nations from the Atlantic to the Pacific to help defend Ukraine with unprecedented military, economic, and humanitarian support—and that support will endure,” he added.

Ukraine’s Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security, which operates under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, published a propaganda photograph of Biden and Zelenskyy, “Joe Biden is in Kyiv today! On the eve of the first anniversary of large-scale aggression, it is significant for us to see not only verbal support and solidarity but also the presence of our main partners in Kyiv.”

Newsweek reported, “Security risks were clearly present as Biden walked Kyiv’s streets, with air raid warnings sounding across Ukraine after Russian MiG-31 aircraft thought to be carrying Kinzhal hypersonic missiles took to the skies.”

“You see the map of the air raid alerts, it’s all red,” Ukrainian air force spokesperson Colonel Yurii Ihnat told reporters at a briefing on Monday. “I do not know if it is related to the leader of the American people’s [visit] to Ukraine; those flights are going on on a daily basis,” Ihnat said.

Twitter denizens weren’t bashful about calling the visit with sirens going off in the background a staged event:

President Biden Arrives In Kyiv For His Performance Review
POLITICS·Feb 20, 2023 · BabylonBee.com

KYIV — Multiple insider sources reported a hushed nervousness was felt throughout President Joe Biden's entire entourage today as he arrived in Kyiv, Ukraine for his annual performance review with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"He's really hoping this meeting goes well," said one White House insider. "The President has been working really hard over the past year to do a good job for his superiors, and he's wanting it to pay off for him in this performance review. His commitment to working for Ukraine — sending all the weapons, military equipment, and taxpayer dollars — really speaks for itself."
President Biden seemed oblivious to the criticism his trip was receiving due to him flying to Kyiv rather than visiting the ecologically ravaged community of East Palestine, Ohio. "We understand there are people who are upset about the President not visiting East Palestine," said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, "But we saw pictures of that nasty black cloud of smoke. Are you kidding?! The President can't breathe that stuff! He'd be safer in a war zone, quite frankly."
If the performance review goes well, it's reported that President Biden is hoping it will result in a bump in his pay, with sources saying Biden wants a raise of at least "ten percent for the Big Guy."
At publishing time, Biden was telling his advisors that once his meeting in Kyiv was finished, he wants Air Force One to fly to the Middle East since he's been hearing something has been going on in "Eastern Palestine or something."

Hunter Asks Dad To Pick Up His Paycheck As Long As He's In Kyiv

KYIV — President Biden paid a visit to Ukraine to reaffirm America's unwavering commitment to the country's democracy, sovereignty, and military-industrial complex while also picking up a few things Hunter asked about, including his paycheck.
The Babylon Bee has acquired a recording of the exchange between Biden and his adolescent son, Hunter, just before the trip:
HUNTER: Yo, Pops, how's it hangin'?
BIG GUY: Eh? What now? Which kid are you?
HUNTER: Hilarious, Dad. Hey, can you pick up my paycheck while you're in
Kyiv? I'm swamped this week. SNORT Big art show coming up. SNORT
BIG GUY: Sure thing, Herman.
HUNTER: Thanks, Dad, you're the best. Also, I have a package waiting for me there. Could you pick that up too?
BIG GUY: Squirrel wizard.
HUNTER: K, cool. Brown paper package. Guy named Borysko the Blade has it.
BIG GUY: Baboonsky the Bard. Got it.
HUNTER: Just go to the address written in your notebook —
BIG GUY: Yum
HUNTER: Stop eating it; you need that address.
BIG GUY: Papa hungry. NURSE!
HUNTER: One more thing I need you to pick up. A busload of, um, ladies of the night.
BIG GUY: Janitorial staff?
HUNTER: No, bawdy tarts.
BIG GUY: Fruit snacks?
HUNTER: Forbidden women. Brazen hussies.
BIG GUY: Oh, town girls? Gotcha. Atta boy, son. Smartest guy I know.

At publishing time, Air Force One's return flight had been delayed while President Biden waited for Zelensky to sign his son's paycheck.

Good thing that ass hole has the money to replace he rotting ass meth mouth teeth. Fucking degenerate

It is just unfathomable they put to potato in chief on a train to get to Kiev. A train seems like the least secure mode of transportation you could use. It doesn’t take much to derail one. If something would have happened to him there most certainly would have the kicking off of ww3
