What's new

Post up rare, custom, or just plain weird trucks!

Yeah, I was just trying to think about how the rollers on the back would be useful. They wouldn't serve any purpose for a car or truck, would probably make trying to keep one straight even harder. I didn't bother to look at any videos, but maybe I will tomorrow to see what that carriage looking mess down the center is. Looked to me like it would slide down the bed to hook to something, then draw it up on the bed, sort of like a roll-off truck. Someone put a lot of work into it, so it probably worked ok for it's intended purpose, but it would suck as a car hauler, so I am at a loss as to what it would have actually been used for.
In the video, he had a piece of cable that looked like it had stops crimped on it every few feet that hooked into the traveler for the carriage.
Not sure how they intended that to work originally, he had what looked like a Y bridle with homemade hooks and a pulley at the center of the Y so it could move from side to side.
I could see it for something like a mini sea can with small wheels under it, but I have no idea what you would use it for.

Was built by the trucking company years ago for truck show advertising, they have a custom made double drop low boy to haul it on. It's red now because the company was recently bought out. That trailer was made by Manic trailers and they did a really good job on it. I seen it out east years ago, it looks way better In person for some reason

Now sure, but what did they build it for in the early 1990s?

Maybe the same thing for a small business owner before it became a national thing:homer:

I heard that a local scrap guy made little dumpsters on wheels and left them at auto shops, then when they were full, he'd drive around and roll an empty off the truck and which a full one on, took some upfront work, but once he had them, it was gravy :usa:

This is Big Red. It’s a 71 model that previously owned by Bobby Allison Racing. It currently has a 350 with a 4 spd with a generator and air compressor in the back. The spotter’s deck is still on top but in travel mode. It does run but I have a 496 with an Allison ready to go in it. After that is body and paint. The paperwork says it was a cab/ chassis and sent to Stageway Motor Coach to be converted to crew cab. They did several of the crew cab conversions then.
