Panzers: I break rocks thread

random question...

how much fuel will a 3 yard bucket wheel loader burn in 8 hours. Im looking at renting something like a 938 for a week and am trying to figure out all im going to be in it for.

Still getting old enough that parts aren't the easiest to get right away. I know the newer stuff is a crap shoot too..

Ever run a 980b back to back with a 980G? Or say a 140G to an M? There is a difference in what gets done, and how hard it is on a guy...
This is exactly it. You can run a f series around all day and when you get done feel like you got ran over with a truck. Do that same job in a m and you’re feeling good at the end of the day. The operator comfort is a big deal these days. As I’m getting older it’s important to me too.

Going to that G made my fucked up shoulders so happy:grinpimp:

Any komatsu guys around? A local contractor is selling a bunch of 2010-11’ komatsu Hm400-2 trucks. All have 10-13k hours on them. Really nice shape. They were used for stripping and reclaiming a frac sand mine. Tires are really nice no cuts, hitches are nice and tight, no weeping out of the lift cylinders.

I can get them for 75k a pop. I cannot find a cat or Volvo that come close to the age hours and price.

Anyone have any thoughts?
Not a Komatsu "guy" but if their in that good of shape 75k is a really good price, I just looked at a 2016 for a friend a couple months ago and it went for 230k, it was well maintained and in really good condition but even less than stellar examples glow the same machine fetch 190-200k.

We did keep old B's an what not handy.Pretty nice to leave at random pits so drivers could load themselves.

To gutless for a dipshit to smoke the tires, and easy to fix if some shitbag wanders by

What is the game plan for the company down the road? You and your brother gonna buy it from dad?
Inherent it, hopefully. We do more work than just drill wells, but anytime after a couple of wet winters we get slow. The election coming up isn't helping. We are doing more advertising and are working on a website.

Pick up a vac truck to keep guys busy and money rolling in? Those things are always busy around here when anyone is working on stuff near utilities.

Bonus points if it’s a 50s truck with a modern vac grafted onto the back.
I don't see vac trucks around here, I'm not sure that I've ever seen one besides going down the highway.

I get more from google listing than a website. That really just got me stupid emails, more telemarketers and scammers, and whenever I talked to those fucks it cost me another $50:shaking:

We had a custom Google listing and something happened to it, it is no longer supported or something. Our main number go to an answering service.

could you do those zero-hour rebuilds on one machine at a time?
new harness, all new hoses, line bore all the shit, all of that sorta shit, within reason

because I don't see how a 10yr old emissions machine can compare in reliability to a 40yr old nonemissions machine
like... trading 'old wiring' for 20x the wires

I ran the numbers on zero hour rebuilding our 980G versus a new 980 and between fuel consumption and expected life the new one wins. Hell going with 10 years old the cost of ownership on our 980k has been our lowest cost of ownership to 20k hours out of every loader we have (the 988H relife took 2 transmissions to get there and the G is ready for a complete rebuild).

Getting the shop phone changed to a cell made a huge difference for me.

I got something right now with the google listing, if you google driveline. It damn near hides my info, but the other shops info is front an center. Only reason I know, is that I had customers bitching about it.

Need to figure out how to play that game one of these days

Land lines do not work around here. You call the business and we get a text and email, and somebody gets back to you shortly. We can almost always be on site within a couple of hours for service work.

You have to pay Google.

I wanna say our 644h was around 60 gallons a day if it was ran hard. Been a while though so I could be way off on that.

Yea I killed the landline all together. Had the number put on a cell.

We had a local contractor do some certified rebuilds on pre emissions 349's.
Just for the sole purpose of skipping emissions.

They were happy with them even though we had some tune issues and delivery date problems.

They just bought them blind from RB and brought them to us. They got paint jobs and everything.
