Oddball Heavy Equipment

Not so very heavy, but this thing is cool. Never seen one before. Bush hog deck....this would be so much more fun for mowing my field.

Badass in several ways! Wonder how the tracks do? Wonder how hard it would be to spit one of them?

Should be hard as fuck since the tracks are so short and you're presumably not trying to turn the thing around in a rocky mud pit like you are with a skid or a mini-ex.

Posted them before. Local Co-Op has a bunch. They seem fairly popular around here. I'd love one as an alternative to the JD1025r for mowing, but not $19k much of love....

Great example of putting the bucket on the wrong end of the machine.

And an operator not playing to the machine's strengths. No reason to play bulldozer when you can pick shit out of the ground. Breaking shit out of the ground is exactly what the curl is for so why not use it. Just because it can't break the whole thing out at once doesn't mean you can't peel it out one corner at a time.

I like this one, it's fuckin cool.

Guy claims to have invented/patented a third, retractable axle. Actually seems well done and useful, especially keeping skid steers from falling on their ass when climbing.

Also increases downpressure at the bucket.

My grandfather had a loader similar to that back in the 80s. Had to climb through the arms and rear steer from what I remember.

Also had a potato loader like a skid steer. We called it a "pelleter" (French for shoveller) I can't remember how it steered. Was 2wd and probably 50s-60s era.

So, did the center track have power? What did it do in a turn?

Theres 2 center tracks in that pic.... not sure how it turned though.
I only see one track in the middle. I think it could just stop if it was twisting in place. Not sure how they would do it while going forward. (Without computers)

I saw that, but wasn’t sure if that’s a track. Doesn’t look wide enough. On a normal machine of that vintage, is it just a diff with cutting brakes?
Could be turning breaks or clutches. The ones with turning clutches are fun on hills because that side will speed up/freespool where as on flats that side will stop and the powered side will turn it

The next iteration of big weird bulldozers. Euclid tc-12, with twin Detroits.

Euclid loved twin detroits. Pretty sure they made a big tandem drive dump truck that had an engine and Allison for each axle.

Cool machine, but good grief, unless they're paying you to send clicks their way, sanitize your link. Get rid of the half page of crud on the end.
Found this today on Equipment Trader and went down a rabbit hole.

All the part in red is tracking crud:

As I read it, it says that you found it through ET Prospecting on Facebook (or via Facebook tracking) along with the ID number of the ad you clicked on, the group the ad was from, your unique click number and I'm sure some other information that only makes sense to them.

Gotcha on tracking. Edited the post to remove the crud. Guess next time I’ll just provide a screenshot without links.
