We had Pyrenees dogs when I lived at home on the farm. They were the same way, it would be 0° and blowing like hell and they would be laying in the yard. Dad shaved them in the summer to help them deal with the heat.

I knew they can deal with extreme cold, as they often just get left with herds out in the elements. I just figured it's funny that he goes out when he has the option to be inside.

Shaving seems to be a big debate. The place we got him from is 90*+ for about half the year, many many 100*+ and quite a few 110*+ days. Lots of them all over the area with sheep and goats. No body shaves them as long as they are out side all year, and have water they seem to be fine.

Here's my 3. From left to right is Jager, Gypsy and Merle.

Jager was a rescue right before everything shut down for covid. I actually flew from VA down to Louisiana and drive him and his sister back together and delivered his sister to her new home about an hour away. He's a boxer, rotty, pit mix according to the DNA test we did out of curiosity. He's a little over 2 now and although he doesn't look like it in this pic he's 158lbs.

Then there's my baby girl Gypsy the goofy yellow lab. And then Merle was a foster fail by the wife. We had fostered a few dogs for a bully rescue that my wife volunteers for and then they asked us to foster Merle because he came out of a very abusive shitty situation and was afraid of everyone. The foster knew we could handle his needs so they begged us to look after him. It took over an hour of just sitting on the ground waiting for him to come to us the day we picked him up and before we even left the driveway of the foster my wife says "i think we need to adopt him!" He's been with us about 6 months and officially ours for about 5 of those 6 months and he is just an amazing dog. He doesn't have an ounce of aggression in him and now my only complaint is that he is to needy and wants to be on top of you every chance he gets so I guess that's a hard thing to complain about given how scared he was in the beginning.

I'll work on getting some pics later today. We have 5 dogs in the house at present, two of which belong to our daughter and granddaughter.
My wife has announced that for her upcoming birthday in May she wants another dog. She's really interested in another English Springer Spaniel.
In her words, about the right size and she's really liked the personalities of both Springers we've had. I've thought about getting a Bassett Hound,
simply because they're big goofballs, but I've nixed that idea lately because with the snow we get the poor guy would be dragging his dick in
the snow.
