What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

Both prices are a long way from a base f350 cclb dually with a 7.3 and 4x4 for $53000
You are not wrong but I don't really intend to dispose of the truck I am buying. I intend to sell before the value is gone and "rent" the truck for a few years.
The sticker is just data to calculate how much it will cost for my part of the ownership.

What did that $53k truck cost in 2018, anyone know?

I remember pricing a v10 ar 46ish about that long ago

Does anyone order anything but a fully loaded cowboy cadillac anymore? Seems like it used to be split between xlt and lariat trim trucks with the higher levels being pretty rare. Now it seems like platinum is the new normal
It used to be the lariat was a top trim, any more it's a midlevel trim with King Ranch,Platinum, and Limited still above it.

This Platinum will be a test if I buy it, This lariat ultimate is plenty nice, if the Platinum isn't worth it ill re-evaluate on the next one, but if the money is really close it might be the same story again.

My preference right now is the king ranch just for the two tone paint but I don't like the orangish interior so here we are.

KR is about the interior. You can get KR w/o two tone.

Yep, all brought to you by the govt and their firm belief they have a right to tax anything on the shelf. There is not one valid reason for a manufacture of non-perishable goods to sign off on just in time manufacturing.

Aside from not paying taxes on goods still in inventory.

Have you ever priced out industrial warehousing? That’s certainly not free at $.50-$1 per square foot per month. Plus now you need additional labor to manage said extra inventory. It also helps isolate any quality issues and allows for changes in production so that you aren’t stuck with a bunch of now obsolete product.

Ordered a '22 F450 XLT Regular Cab... Granted, it's got just about every option on it except Nav that you could get.

It's just the wife and I. She wanted the F450 and wasn't taking anything else. We wanted the most maneuverable rig we could get because we have a narrow street and narrow driveways. I wanted LED headlights but it would've required a crew cab and a bunch of other shit we didn't want so we compromised as little as possible.

I can add the stuff I wanted for about $3k total at the end of the day which is a lot less than the price hike to a Lariat, which as said, was a non-starter because you have to have the crew cab.

Now, if Ford did what RAM does and let you order all the bells and whistles on the lower trim models, that would've been different.

Regardless, if/when it's time for another rig of this sort, I think we'll look hard at getting a RAM. You can order those more ala cart than you can a Ford. We could've got a 3500 Reg Cab, dually, 4.10's with the Aisin and added in LED headlights, heated seats and steering wheel and a bunch of other shit. BUT... They're expensive. A RAM, with the options our Ford has plus the things I would've added had it been possible, comes out about $6k more than our Ford.

You can bet they have penciled it out just about every way possible to make sure they are the winner of the options game.

LED headlights was the only thing this truck didn't have that I wanted and I wasn't interesting in spending the $$$$ to get OEM lights.
I think for the '23's they even added more restrictions to options/model availability to try and streamline production, I hope they don't figure it for awhile so my trade stays high:dustin:

And that's a cost the company can manage on their own to best meet their needs. Having to run at the ragged edge of insolvency to avoid paying taxes on stock is not.

Warehouse rent comes and goes, taxes are forever.

Talking model year price comparison, I want to see what my 19 350 cclb lariat ultimate would cost for 23. NOT AN OPTION! Only cc srw I see is KR, platinum and limited:mad3:

Thats a SWB not a LWB. I just tried as well and you cant get the lariat ultimate package on a LWB non DRW truck

I couldn't get the SRW to change the picture from LWB to SWB no matter the trim.

SO everyone is trusting of these new diesels?
I am coward, I will be going back to a gas engine.

They seem to be as reliable as anything else new.

I think the emissions side is mostly figured out. It's really just the cost to repair that's the killer, not necessarily that they're unreliable.

I’m using an iPad might be the problem.

Why shouldn’t you be able to get a high end in SRW, but you have to with DRW. Just go back to the days of the customer gets to configure their purchase.

I trust the 5 year / 100k warranty.
I have documented drain intervals on my water separator and I know where the fuel lab is , they are gonna have a hard time sticking me with a CP4 failure on known problematic injection pump.

I'm not saying they won't stick me, but I won't go down with out a fight.

I’m not sure I trust ford’s warranty. :flipoff2:

that's what i did, my buddies 20k dollar bill for water in the fuel system was the final straw. but the fawking def bull shit had me wore thin.

It's insane to me that with all the complexity of these new trucks with sensors and filters everywhere, they can't handle something that trucks 20-40+ years ago could.

$100k and you can't put a good water separator in? :homer:

But can you be without a truck for 4 months waiting for them to fix it?

I asked our local dealer about a loaner and they said, ya, we have a car for customers who are having warranty work done. I said, so if I buy a $60k-100k truck and it needs warranty work, you're giving me a festiva to drive? :homer:

the tech showed him the baby food jar with some water and diesel in it. truck had 17,000 miles and is a 19 model. he could not find any water in either of his tanks. he paid over 20k to get his truck out of the dealership.

I can't argue with you on these points, I just don't see a one stop solution to the problem.

I work for a dealership, we are having to do this daily and a its not just a $60-100K truck we have warranty/loaner claims that are that much money.
