I admire a man that can piss away $10k on cars this quickly. :flipoff2:

looking at link you quoted

68k for a 7.3 F250 with cloth seats

Ill be damned.

why major discounts for F150s?

why major discounts for F150s?

Historically they always would run specials on f150s to drive foot traffic. I would also assume your average f150 buyer is more price conscious than you superduty buyer. That truck also isn’t a crew cab which massively reduces its appeal to anyone with kids.

Theres some dealers around here selling "sleeper package" F150s. Don't know how realistic their list prices are

I have been daily driving my wife’s old Escalade, and it has been a damn good truck. Well I’m pushing 260k on it and it still runs well, but it’s age is showing. So I have been looking at a 15 to 20 Escalade to replace it. Even with 100 k on them they are higher than giraffes pussy. So I thought whats available new, I always liked a short bed regular cab. So GM an Chevy are out. I had a 14 GMC that I loved the look of but it rode like shit stock. and rode just as bad after the 4/6 drop kit. The new dodges just don’t trip my trigger. So I startEd my search for a new ford with a 5.0, a locking diff and not white. Found more than a few with my requirements in a 200 mile search. All but one was an XL. The one XLT msrp was 46k, fuck me! I really didn’t do much more than send texts asking for the drive off price. I got the best price, no bullshit out of a little dealership just north of Abilene, in the town of Anson. Sales man by the name of Cody Hethcoat, just a straight up great guy to deal with. Shot me a good price, does a financial ap to get the 1.9% that Ford was offering on the trucks. This is Friday evening, I get a bunch more texts from other dealer but they all get squirmy on putting the price on screen. The one local dealer that had the XLT said 44k out the door, I politely declined. A few more Texts back he want to know who is beating him. I was like,it doesn’t matter. So anyway I get up at 5 and I was bored so I said fuck and looked at theXLT truck, I was about as hard loaded as you can get now a days. So I say fuck it and offer 40,500 OTD. Well the morning is most done and I’m backing up to the trailer to head to Anson. I get a text back that they will take the deal, but only if I buy today. I said your on, he asks how fast I can be down there. I said I’ll see you in 30 minutes. So I go though and buy the XLT.
But now I feel like shit because the guy in Anson was just great to deal with. I’m going to mail him 300 bucks for his time. i would not have gotten the deal if he didn’t hit me with good price on the blue xl up front. So I’m typing up a text, when he called me back.

And sport mode, traction control off and the diff locked, this bitch is fun.
If you want more fun, get the Oz Omega tune and fill it with E85

Shit that is pretty slick. Even has me considering it. :homer:
you really need 4x4, 700hp and 2wd is just going to be a smoke show.
i picked up the new truck last night, i was afraid not having the power seat was going to bother me, but i am fine with it. the lane assist actually works pretty good, i was surprised. the dash is different than my trade in, found that kinda weird. the lie ometer says 24.5 when i pulled in the parking lot this morning. i will put a pen and paper to it next tank. i had them swap my 20s for the 18s that were on it, speedo is slow 2 mph at 65. new truck has a center console which is a lot nicer to me than the fold down seat. all in all i am quit happy with it. cost me right at 6k total to get the new truck in my hands.

I screwed up on my numbers, it cost me 4500 bucks to swap trucks, im real happy with that. I like driving it a bit more. But the steering sucks, i have backed up this truck way more in a few days than i ever have my escalade, yukon or tahoes. And i think its going to be a 19 mpg truck in The real world.

What's the difference between them? Gears? The extra cab can't have added enough weight to make that much a difference in mpg.

pulled the rear 1" block out and put on a longer shackle to lower the rear about 2"s.

put the Whipple on and had to wait till after Christmas to get an updated tune. with the right tune it loaded just fine. the instructions should be followed to 100%, if it doesn't say do it, don't. or you will be pulling shit off later. it took us all day to do it, but we were being slow and careful since neither of us had done it before. i am pretty sure we could do the next one in 6 to 8 hrs. drove it down and filled the damn near empty tank with 93 and did a few miles to get the fuel around the system. no codes, a bit of a tick at first but that went away. did a little bit of playing and pulled over, turned the traction control off and put it in 4 hi sport mode. fuck me, that may be the hardest launch i have ever had, i need to see what the 60' are on this thing. it seems to have cost me about 2 mpg on the drive into work today. so i will probable be driving the caprice in most of the days. so much for a new daily.
