New Bronco reports

Honestly I don't have a clue what a new Bronco would go for totalled out with flood damage. I was just thinking "someone could have a running wheelable new Bronco with maybe 10 grand in it." Probably not.
Stuff got really expensive on Copart and IAAI during Covid and hasn’t returned to sanity yet.

Youchube made every hack with a basic tool set think they’re pro fix-n-flippers. My mom runs the auction house here, it’s astronomical what the junkers are selling for here. Those prices are never coming back to earth. Co-part figured out how to capitalize on all the ActionFab’s out there. They (co-part) also have the monopoly on the salvage powersports market. Fuck co-part!

What you're describing is basically the power-sport equivalent of the metaphorical shoe shine boys getting into the stock market. Textbook indicator of an economy at/past a peak.

The financial solvency of ProjectJunkie's decal and paint flipping operation is predicated on Trindu doing dumb shit like slapping reman trannies in vehicles that don't deserve them which is predicated on dealers doing dumb shit like buying them which is predicated on the CarterKraft types buying overpriced trucks they don't need which is predicated on SoFried's overpriced cardboard shanty building operation running at full speed to sell them to the SDCJs overpaying cash for property and so on and so on.

What everyone's doing looks financially solvent individually but it's all interconnected in multiple ways and when the music stops some people will necessarily be left without chairs.

This may just be the new normal. It could take an EMP to stop the music. Covid just made it play faster and louder.

Maybe, maybe not. That's the multi-trillion dollar question that nobody knows the answer to.

Yep. People/businesses with resilient, adaptable money making strategies will win. Some will lose and unfortunately, some will be bailed out by the government.

Finally stood next to a new Bronco today. A 4dr one.

Damn things are huge. Bigger than my JKU by a good bit.

I thought they'd be smaller

A couple inches wider at the door but thats about it right?

I really wish I had a tape measure with me. I was surprised it felt so big..

Both doors do seem wider, the front a few inches, the rear quite a bit more than that. The whole thing seemed longer over all.

The sheet metal on a new bronco is right at 70" wide, which is about 5" wider than a JL. The outside tire width is ~1" wider on the Bronco (Non-Sasquatch).

The 4 door Bronco wheelbase is 2" shorter than the 4 door Jeep, but the 2 door Bronco has a 4" longer wheelbase than a 2 door Jeep.

I would have absolutely bet that the 4dr Bronco had a longer wheelbase. That's strange.

Drove my co workers 4dr 7M Bronco finally.

Dammit I like the way they're set up. Turns tighter than I thought, little ecoboost even on 35's doesn't want for power, and that transmission shifts really nicely. The auto restart if you stall is a nice touch too.

Too bad they couldn't have made a truck version instead of the Ranger. Because dammit I really like that transmission.

I was/am really impressed with how well the trans works and feels. It seems to be the perfect middle ground between a super tight short throw car trans and what a "truck" trans should feel like.

Apparently all my ABS, traction control, and locker issues are from a broken rear axle shaft.
Should have it back in a few days with new shafts according to Folsom Ford.

Did you post somewhere about your problems? What were the symptoms? Any idea when it happened?

Interesting.🤔

My '94 Bronco is 72" wide at the top of the front wheelwell lips.

I thought I had mentioned it. Maybe not.
ABS and traction control idiot lights have been on and off for a couple months, figured it was dirt in my vss's as if I cleaned them it went away till the next time I wheeled.
2 weeks ago I got 200 yds into the actual rocks going up Wentworth and I lost all lockers.
They were lit, but grey not orange.
Finally got it into dealer thinking it would be another ABS sensor.
Nope.
It could be from just wheeling a good amount with fancy electronics to really liking to spin 37's and get sideways on the street.

I am surprised you can spin 37s that hard

Anyone notice the rear lockers turning off at 30 mph than coming back on at 15?
I know I've ran them on at highway speeds before and am curious if it's a product of the new update Ford pushed while it was at the dealership or if my lockers are still wonky.

I bet you just didn’t notice it turn off and turn back on, it should have been like that always. I use the locker in my work truck every day. It turns off at 30 and back on when you dip under 20

This is what I'm thinking after looking around on the 8nterwebs some more.
Hopefully I can change this in Forescan.
