What's new

new 7.3 gas ford

I ran a 2020 F250 CC LWB 4wd XLT 36,000 miles through KBB.

VGC 7.3 gas $45,842
VGC diesel $51,800

$5,958 difference.

I'd (and am) buying a new gasser for 10k more.

just do me a favor and order it with 4.30s and GN prep package. I bought off the lot and WISH i ordered instead with those options. However I did get it for 10% under msrp during covid shortages so there is that.

Thats the dilemma. I think you're better off either used or 80-100k miles. Rhte problem with new ies I start adding little things I want and end up at $68k

FYI I traded my '18 F350 6.7 Lariat Ultimate w/36k miles last month for $57k
I would think retail would have gone to $60k+, my truck never even hit the dealers website, it was sold straight off.

It blows my mind how people are buying trucks at these prices. (With interest:eek:) Because you must get huge insurance bills for 50k + vehicles.

I'm still putzing along in my 200k gmt800 even though I would love a new f250 and have the $ :homer:

Im not sure how much insurance really changes. I currently have a 2005 XL V10 F350 that is probably worth 7k. When i called to see how much more my new truck would be, 23 chevy diesel LT 3500 my rate when up around $100 for 6 months. Not bad when the MSRP is around 72k.

i hate the design of the ford hitch and have not needed a lower gear in 10K miles of towing. i have 3;73s, i lock out 8th, 9th and 10th when I'm towing heavy. it towed up Raton pass just fine at 24 or 25k gross.

Insurance for my shit is peanuts... It's the 16 and 18 year olds added to my policy that fucks it up, BAD.
My sons quote for his policy alone was $1100 for 3 months...
My new truck is cheaper than my old truck even though it's MSRP is $20K higher, I have no idea why, active front end collision breaking?

All my shit with comprehensive coverage, RV, SXS, '22 F350, '19 Kia Sorrento, 16 year old girl '17 Audi Q5, 19 year old boy '03 Ram 2500 is $481/ month

Rack it by the pinch welds or running boards to lift body. Fuck that one ground strap. You can fix it.
when you've got ten in ground hoists and zero above ground you don't really lift cabs off
shit kinda sucks

Did you ever consider that it might be because that generation of F-350 was the easiest truck in the world to steal?

And immensely popular with organized crime in a nation that borders the state he lives in. Nope, that can't be it. Typical motivated reasoning. :shaking:

You could do it with 4 or 5 Christmas tree stands. Might be sketchy.

hoist posts are underneath frame

how give cab uppies?
Maybe engine hoist and jackstand shenanigans, but even four hilifts seems more stable than that...

Unbolt everything. Raise truck. Christmastree jacks on pinch welds. Lower chassis.

you must have an f350. It seems those came with 3.73s and f250 with 3.55 ehi h is what mine have. Everything about the truck is identical between f250/350 so I went with the 250 to save on registration and possibly insurance costs. I hate the 3.55s though, it is constantly shifting all over the place.

or you could just go with an inline 6 diesel like ford should have done eons ago :homer:

I never did think about that. I know how easy it is because i had my ignition actuator break and had to do it myself a few months back.
