We were at the hammers one year and this group camped near us started lighting off fireworks. Big double mortars and such. I moseyed on over to thier camp and asked them polietly to stop as they were hammered, and our truck with all the fuel in it was closest to them.

They reluctantly acquiesed and about 30 minutes later started back up again. One of their fireworks didn't make it all the way up and exploded about 30-40 feet off the ground showering both camps with flaming debris. Including our truck with all the fuel in it.

I lit in to them like R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket.

The next morning I told them if they were going to party like that, go away from us. They puffed up for a bit but ended up packing up their shit and leaving.

we all know, or are quickly acquainted with where the 'action' is if camp and fuel truck are is the middle of it gtfo. if not that shit needs to gtfo.

i wasn't ever raised in it.
i found the sand and the rocks for the shenanigans, and stayed for the community. have we all lost that? the banana man tards are what led me to a place that taught me a way of life, you know the thing..... the other place... i'm no doctor or lawyer and have learned the rules or risk and hard fun. i think that is lost on allot of ppl. with age comes cage and keep the innocent out of it... just for starters.

I'm just over here trying to figure out how to show my kids a good way to get to experience all that without getting crushed by a crawler, blowing their hand off, or getting beat down with a dildo.

I managed to survive most of it by being smart, but one time I got really drunk and hopped in the back of a 2wd nissan in an attempt to help him get traction up Comp Hill in Glamis. I'm still alive today because I somehow got really really lucky and my pants caught the top of the tailgate as I was about to fly out the back into the darkness. Only smart thing I did that night was tell my 15 year old cousin who came with me and I was responsible for, that he had to sit in the cab of the truck and keep his seatbelt on rather than ride in the back with me.
 
this kind of stuff is why I waffle on KOH each year. I enjoy the event but the rest of the crap is a no from me. And the worst of it is it's not like you can just stay in your own camp, but a party group can be 20 feet away with their party/bomb fest. Last time we went a dude lost his dog as someone was booming off stuff. And we were camped quite aways from the main camp.

I had my fuel tank pulled apart and leaking gas all over while doing a repair this year and had fireworks coming under the neighbors trailer into our site. Fortunately they calmed down after us explaining to them that not only was my buggy close enough to burn their fucking rv down if it went but also that if they burned my buggy down I was going to murder every one of them since I would no longer have anything left to live for.

I'm still going back next year...:cool2:

I'm definately no longer down for the complete craziness that is being down in the line on backdoor or chunder. We did go over to chunder a couple of nights and watch from a safe distance though. While fairly nuts it is still entertaining to watch the tards drive and roll all over each other.

Oh I loved watching the backdoor runs, the people not so much. The last in person visit and even the youtube feed was too much though.
