Matt's Off Road Recovery.

+Whatever on Rory and his crew being pros. I have been a fan of Trail Mater's for several years and the stuff those guys recover without hurting the vehicle is pretty amazing. I think part of the appeal to me for Rory's channel is I have been on those trails so when I watch I know where they are talking about. As someone said Rory is driving a manual trans too and just gets shit done.
Rory actually uses his front dig.

One of the coolest things I've seen on Matt's channel wasn't actually him. It was this dude Eric? who appears to know how to drive:

nOOB observations:
From what little I know about YT; a YT'er can pay big money (turbo charged) to YT to steer a ton more people to it's channel.

In his own right/on his own accord; Matt is popular, but my W.A.G. is he turbocharged his channel to really kick up the viewing numbers.
occasionally I wind up logged out of Youtube on the work computer when i go look during lunch. A lot of the time, Matt's channel pops up. So its sure as hell being pushed, since at that point I'm a no-interest random person and it's suggesting me his videos

I made it about 3 minutes into one of the wrecker games videos. scrolled through, didn't find anything that looked entertaining. went back to old episodes of Roadkill instead

Wrecker games clips have been popping up all over the place for me.

That clip of Merlin's truck dragging the powerstroke through the beach sand while doing its best impression of a wave pool made me laugh. Solid truck and looks cool as hell but it would be a much better sand recovery vehicle if it could keep tires down

This drill press seems bad ass. maybe it's stupid?

For $6K, I'd rather invest in a mill and use it as a drill press.

And is that a TSC tractor link?
It's just a modern version of a 1950s Popular Science/Mechanix Illustrated article on how to build your own drill press out of pipe fittings and other scrap.

I didn't intend to BUY it, just thought the concept was unique and easy for a home gamer to pull of.
And yeah its a tool that showed up in the MORR shop, since we only talk shit about MORR this post seemed fitting.

Fuckshit, in the past five years I have given away two perfectly fine Bridgeports.

Wish I had known that I was sitting on $12K in drill press.

No chance this company offered them a free drill press, and they made a story line to be excited about it. Nope, no chance.

How can people still fall for this over and over again?

Show me on the doll where Matt touched you guys :lmao:

Who cares how they got it?

I don't follow the guy, so I got no dog in the hunt, but I can imagine it's the fact that we are continuously lied to and manipulated in every aspect of our lives and the idea that this guy feels the need to continue the pattern on his supporters.

Again, I don't know the show, but I think his followers are going to continue to watch regardless, and adding drama over a drill press is just ... weak, and really unnecessary.

It's just such a trivial thing to dramatize

Dude's running what's basically a low buck reality TV show. Dramatizing shit because you can or because of some mistaken belief that's what people want comes with the territory.

 Have you actually watched any of his videos? Very little drama.
Exactly. Maybe I missed an episode about the drill, but I only remember a 20 second mention of "Tom wanted a new drill, so we got him this. Now he's making us milkshakes with it!"

Like every single car show isn't full of sponsored welders/lifts/parts...

The sooner you realize that NOTHING on the internet is real, the sooner you'll be happy.

For fuck sake you dense mother fuckers really know how to show your ass sometimes.

There was no fake drama, the guys says the old drill press sucks a few times.
You all know for a fact a wood working drill press sucks to drill metal. The speeds are not slow enough, that isn't made for TV drama.

A few episodes later the "new drill press" is here and there's a shot of the guy drilling some holes with it.

My take away was damn that's pretty smart using a regular electric motor to hold the chuck really simplifies. The quill travel is waaayyy more than any drill press I've seen much more than a bridge port not counting the knee.
The hole thing is built on a chunk of I beam, again very strong and novel (to me).

I could give 0 fucks about what it cost, just like I don't give a fuck what a new Bridgeport mill costs, I am not the buyer for those products new.

:flipoff2:

But...but...but..if that includes you, then it must be true. But it is all a lie. But what you said is true...

You can pay for premium exposure on YouTube.

The Daily Wire, for example, pays over $100,000 a month just for Ben Shapiro to get plastered all over your feed if you look at anything even remotely conservative.
