Major Bridge in Baltimore Collapses After Being Struck by Cargo Ship

A large number of interstate roads and bridges are funded by fed money. States may contribute some money, but most of the burden is federal.

I think I see the problem. The whole crew was Indian, the captain included.

So they were all on different phones attempting to provide "customer service" to Americans that could only understand every third word they were saying?

Put down the Tom Clancy books

Yes, it's possibly that could happen. It's also way more possible that would walk abord the ship and highjack it, but I don't see anyone talking about that - which means it's the most likely scenario :stirthepot:

Rather strange how Tom Clancy died suddenly...before the jab was around.

And how planes crashed into a couple buildings after he wrote a book about a plane crashing into the Capitol building.

I also find it amazing that within just a few hours the FBI could have fully investigated and determined that this was purely an accident and there was nothing malicious.

It's very possible it was an accident, but it's also possible the Russian oil lines that blew up was an accident.

PS Haven't read a Tom Clancy book since he died. Never read any of the co-authored ones either, they just weren't that good.

Surely the giant paper trail created by a bunch of idiots blowing up the 911 call center with a bunch of "shit out ship is out of control" calls which can easily be corroborated by video and logs from the ships computer systems and an inspection of whatever the failed components were had nothing to do with it. :shaking:

Yeah, it could be a conspiracy but they don't make that shit look like accidents because they get more bang for their buck if they make it look like terrorists because the latter is much better at getting the idiots who think they're patriotic to step in line.

Also terrorists would have done this during rush hour for maximum effect and well, terror

Who knows these days though, I guess we see if a few years when the ntsb report comes out. It will be interesting and cool to see how they clean this mess up in the meantime.

Not sure if this fact but the captain appears to be Ukraine. He was supposed to hit the Kerch bridge not the Key. Lol

False. Stop being an idiot.

That seems an awful narrow path under the bridge for no tugs. I wonder if SOP will change after this.
that isn't considered narrow, even for cargo ships of this size. That span of the bridge was 1200'. So figure 1100'~1150' at water line.

The Dali cargo ship which smashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge suffered a 'severe electrical problem' while docked in Baltimore days before, according to a port worker.

Julie Mitchell, co-administrator of Container Royalty, a company which tracks cargo, told CNN the ship was anchored at the port for at least 48 hours prior to the deadly crash.

Following the devastation, she said: 'And those two days, they were having serious power outages… they had a severe electrical problem. It was total power failure, loss of engine power, everything.'

Mitchell explained that refrigerated boxes tripped breakers on board the ship on several occasions, and mechanics had been trying to fix the issue.

She said she didn't know whether the problem had been fixed when the ship set off.

The 1.6-mile Key Bridge partially collapsed after the cargo shipping container vessel crashed into one of its support structures just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Cyber attack on a physical structure? Please, continue. Oh, you really are going to keep talking...?

Could 695 be used by some traffic as an alternative route? Sure. But why is it, do you suppose, I-95 runs directly through and along nearly every cargo terminal?
Bridge shut down for 3-5 years? Not unpossible.
Channel shut down for 3-5 years? Not a chance

Not directed at you xr-nut, Lara is fucking idiot.

Alright so I have a few questions. So ships this big turn super slow correct? All the stuff we have seen video wise shows the power issues just before the ship hit the bridge. Have we seen a timeline showing when the ship first reported power issues? I know they called in a distress signal before the collision with enough time to stop car traffic. But a ship that big seems like it had been off course for many minutes before hitting the bridge. So how long would it take a ship that big to get that far pff course?
#tinfoil. The ship was hacked and they had to cycle all the power in an attempt to regain control. Mistakes were made and they didn’t drop all anchors when they originally lost control. In a last ditch attempt to not hit the bridge they threw it in full reverse, rolling coal, but it was too late.

Rainbo 03 gave me the chills, years latter we get a fake pandimic...

Go back and watch any of Sals videos the first one he attempted to sinc map with the video

Plus it's easier to skim and do kickbacks etc using taxpayer money.
More likely at a small town or congressional level than the anything fed funded. The controls on the money are too tight these days. Hell even the mob has to actually show up to the jobsite and sit in a chair for 8 hours to get paid..:flipoff2:

Just as an example, an inspector on a job I'm trying to close right now was lazy and didn't do an interview with the sweeping company that was onsite one day for paving. Because he was too busy (lazy, also the sweeping guy can either be incredibly nice a huge fucking asshole). That was the only day this particular disadvantaged business (owned by an old black guy) was in the job. Now because of one interview is missing thus us a major shit show for close out. That im dealing with. :mad3:

Tug boat taking a barge up river in the early morning before the accident, now the boat is stuck. The crew is off another tug that's in for a 5 year check, so the company had this one idle and put it back to work

Apparently they never regained propulsion and the smoke is from attempting to air start the main engine.
