Made in America

Beadlock wheels. Carson City, NV.

Tryloff add this to your first post.

Work got busy. I'm making my way through the replies as I get time. I am glad to see some real 4x4 junk though lol. We were turning into a cloths forum there for a minute

Basically all lead acid batteries are made semi-local to point of origin. The exception are atv/cycle batteries. Weight/value makes transport suck.
FYI Interstate = Optima = WalMart. FIL hauled for Johnson controls years ago. They are now part of an even bigger conglomerate.

Interstate >optima>Walmart

That and workers have no pride in their work. They want to put their time in and go home, they don't care that the shit product they are half-assing is going to be a problem for someone else down the line.

There's a whole thread going about this...

I'll be honest, in a forum filled with small business owners and a general conservative lean, I did not think I would get so much backlash. I do not disagree with what you guys are saying, but I was expecting a different result. I'm not too proud to be wrong, and if this trend continues for a bit longer I will probably delete this thread altogether.

It's a good thread.

I do my best to buy American made whenever possible. There is some stuff that I will absolutely NOT buy from the ChiComs, it just isn't worth it.

I am a small business owner and I don't lean conservative...lol

Well, actually, I do lean conservative...from the libertarian side of things.

If I won the big $ Powerball/Megamillions my idea was to make an amazon, but of only american made and sourced products. Not just a sticker tacked on at the end of manufacturing but a tried and tested and actually made here in good ole US of A.:usa:
publicsquare.com

I don't think everything is American made, but it does support non-woke small businesses.

I am very fiscally conservative. But not a Maga guy. New conservative is not conservative at all. I would rather a government follow the same basic money rules as its citizens. Basically, if you can't afford it, don't buy it. If you have debt, jeep it manageable and pay it off in a timely manner. Most importantly, don't borrow (print )money to get out of debt.

But, let's not get too political in this thread

From my POV, interstate can suck my taint. They only get fanboi'd by shops.

I'll take a motorcraft or whatever OE AGM from the junkyard for $35 before I ever waste money on an interstate circle jerk.
:lmao:
Interstate went to shit 20 years ago when the MTs top color went from light gray to green. Our warranty rate went from <1% to 10% almost overnight.

The fact that you are cross-shopping them with junkyard batteries tells me all I need to know here.

Sorta forgot about this thread until it was referenced recently.

Anybody toss Dayton Wire Wheels in here yet?

Just because Made In America...

I emailed Tekton about a ratchet on/off switch breaking. They require a photo. At 5:45pm pm a Sunday night. I received an email about 10 minutes later telling me a repair kit would be on its way.
No clue how this broke. I've used it maybe twice. I was disappointed it was broke last time I saw it, and it still works. Mostly an annoyance.

Picture of broken part. It's the $100 Amazon 3/8 kit without the breaker bar.

Isky cams is still in business, crane cams ?

JE pistons in the last engine I built came from huntington beach California.

Put crower billet titanium rods in that engine also, I assume most of their products are made here.

Aren't Tekton tools mostly made overseas?

About 78% of our current product lineup is made in Taiwan, 18% in the United States, 3% in Canada, and the remaining 1% consists of 20 items from Germany and 1 item from Poland. You can find the country of origin for every tool on Tekton.com by referring to the “Specs” section at the bottom of each product page.

Kinda funny, they built that business on ChiCom crap. Hadn't really paid attention to the fact they changed manufacturing locations.

Probably because the sons have taken over from the founder and the one is a Ron/Rand Paul type. He was a Congressman and the only thing I disagree with him on was his vote to impeach Trump. He's smart, but I think he got suckered.
