* WHAT...Extremely heavy snow and strong winds possible, bringing whiteout conditions at times. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 feet possible above 5000 feet. Accumulations 1 to 4 feet above 3000 feet with lighter accumulations down to 2000 feet. Winds could gust as high as 65 mph.

drove to the Leek Spring turnoff, could have gone to 88 if I wanted to.
still 6 feet of snow in places
last 3 miles was completely covered

made it all the way to the gate at highway 88
2 weeks and it will mostly be gone
also got up to Leek Spring Lookout.
took 2 hours to get out to MET from there
also heard there was a fatality on MET Monday
local 14-year-old boy was driving (dad in the car and also younger sister with them)
hit a tree around Park Creek. the boy died
