LORE Bronco restore

ok now officially hung up until Jess gets me my driveshaft.
So, I redid the seats in big red since i still have no solution for it's shifting issues, and no one in the coyote world has seemed to run into this issue, nor has heard of it.
Yay me.
wired in tow/haul and shift up/down on a little switch panel, too.
Replaced the front vinyl that I put in from automotiveinteriors.com (which absolutely SUCKED, and didn't fit worth a shit) with one from LMC.
As you can see, it still needs work (this has been massaged way more to lay more flat) but really, it seems like you're gonna get a wrinkly shitty fit vinyl floor no matter who you get it from.
And, that sucks.
Anyways- mounted the windshield, got the bikini top installed, now to get the wipers sorted out.

It’s been many many years but the vinyl floor I got from Jeff’s bronco graveyard was a factory fit in my ‘90, couldn’t tell you the mfg though.

Look- i've been busy. weddings, travel, family, work, excuses, etc.

working on the wiper motors. fkin paint on the motor bodies are coming off which makes them look like ass. poor adhesion to the substrate/poor paint materials. Thanks TBP. then, taking them apart they are a three brush system which is a bitch to try and reset with the armature. now the motor housing doesn't look the same as the crinkle of the rest so now im trying to make them look legit + the wiring is in your face at the top and want it to look good....so..... OCD is taking over.

in any case, i got my stupid truck on the road!

F250 is on the road- needs gears bad (4.88's to come in the next few weeks)

the PCM from MARS was incorrectly programmed. only took OVER 10 WEEKS TO GET THIS SORTED. what a pain in the ass. Never buy from MARS!

wipers are done now- had to order more DR25 to finish them out.

AAAAAND for the first time since 1977, it moved under its own power.......

By the front shaft and axle......
why? well I got a tom woods front shaft - ordered to delivered in 3 days. Its like they have their shit together or something.
I've been waiting FOUR FUCKING MONTHS from Jesse at Highangle..... and I'm not happy with it.

But I'm elated it moved.
so, i moved it around a little bit-
The clutch needs to be adjusted...i.e. the slave needs to be physically spun around the input to allow it to push the clutch in a touch further. Then, re-bleed the clutch.
The hydroboost....well......sucks. its got a nice soft initial touch, then turns rock hard like it doesn't have enough assist- and I'm not sure if thats a bad accumulator or the power steering pump isnt putting out enough pressure (or) volume.
I couldn't diagnose it, because well........ a small step on the gas hazed the front tires off.... and well...... I broke it lol
so, parts on order.

What did getting sorted entail? Did they make it right? (Asking because my build has a MARS 4.3 LV3, and while I started it on the pallet and it made vroom noises, I don't have any other data points to know if it's going to work).

Maybe buy a rear shaft from Woods and tell Jesse to pound sand? What does Jesse have to say about it?

Seriously. He had my money since fucking February. Not happy with the nonsense, and certainly won't be using him again, despite the whole "support the little guy/guys who've been around the "group"".... well you cant give shit service and expect it to continue to be given to you.

man...... fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck MARS. I lowkey think they sent the first PCM on purpose, then played stupid a few more times until I specifically told them to code it as a 2wd truck.

They were sending 4wd PCM's and it was looking for tcase control module output speed signal and was making the trans and engine do stupid shit.

I don't like the power steering or brakes.
Not enough pressure, the brakes get hard and the steering wheel twitches when you stab the brakes.

So, I bought this high flow -6 AN adapter for the pressure port.
Helped a little, but not a lot.

So, I yanked the pump out, and drilled the port open a bit, then increased the spring pressure inside the spool valve.
This has helped a LOT, but I'm still not happy, nor done with it.
IDK where I'm going to go with this next.

Because KC HiLites were originally on the truck, and the LORE truck was the first sponsored truck they ever had, naturally it was going to go on the truck.
I chose part number 42361 LED Gravity series headlights for it.

Opening the box, I got some instructions, a sticker, and some dielectric grease.

PLENTY of clearance on the back side of the grill

Of course, If you know me by now, its going to get the best stuff :D

I think they look great!

For the fog lights- I'm running a set of the LED Gravity series part number 651.
I REALLY wish they sold these in a chrome housing, but this is all that's available from them.

In the box, you get instructions, a wiring harness, and a sticker
One thing I REALLY like about this, is they are using a Deutsche style connector instead of the typical Weatherpack style connector dang near every single aftermarket company uses.

I have some connectors here, so i didnt have to use their harness (since I already wired the truck for Fog lights)
and was able to just crimp new terminals on, and use their connector bodies

Here's the part number if you want to find them

Sorry, been busy trying to close on a new building for my business-
But, I have been able to fart around with it a little bit.
Got the front end tore down, replaced the front Ujoints with some genuine Spicer's-

Picked this turd up. It's interesting. Unsure if it's going to stick around for a long time or not.

20220727_180225.jpg

Bent the shit out of the shifter to make it more comfortable/easier to shift while driving
20220815_114542.jpg

aaaaaand won 1st place for "cleanest vehicle on the side of the road" :D

turns out the distributor cap lock down screw to phase the cap to the rotor backed off and I lost sparky sparky at the right time.
Quick fix, but still had to get the tow of shame back to the shop lol

Bronco is pure titties! Can just look at it too long.

Find a sled pull nearby and hook that lightning up.

I have mixed emotions about it-
feel like a 16 year old looking for gas stations, but for pixies instead.
it's pretty quick (12.6 quarter, 0-60 3 sec)
needs suspension and spring work to make it a street truck- as the rear diff is woefully low
may tow the bronco to a car meet this weekend- or may do it with the mog or Big red- haven't decided (or fk it- drive it)
Blue cruise is clunky
some of the electronics are annoying or not consistent

ya'll you wouldn't believe how busy I've been over the last month or so- sorry I've not updated with anything useful :/
Bigred needed to get the front gears done. So I busted down and got the 4.88's installed.
Swapped out the volvo power steering system to a vintage air front runner power steering system. this worked out excellent minus the fact I had to remake the ac lines for the second time - which just sucked overall in cost and time doing it twice. whatever.
got the appropriate license plates :D
got sick and tired of my shit flying everywhere in the truck, so i made a center console. bonus is the front tray is a parts magnet tray that pops out if you need to use it when on the side of the road :D :D

Red has been putting in some work with the move to the new location

Mog has been doing stuff too. the driver dropped the container too far back (about 20 feet and almost down the hill of the retention ditch lol) I drug this 20' container like it wasn't there. amazed at the grunt that thing has. just let the clutch out and it chugged right along.

and my new location is coming along, too! I'm super excited over this (and mega stressed over the money flying out of my accounts)
20220922_142025.jpg

aaaaaaaand I snuck one car show in :D

a 6th gen parked next to me.... I had to move.
sorry, I'm a snob and we're not the same.

I’ve got many of your tricks and ideas stored for later use. However, the parts tray center console may be the only one I can afford!

As always, great stuff!

Sorry for no updates in forever. I've been absolutely crushed with the buildout of the new location.
I did make time to thrash this apart to find this never ending oil leak.
Old trucks man..... they never stop leaking no matter what you do.
In any case- the flywheel bolt holes are through holes on the stroker crank. I didn't put thread sealant on the flywheel bolts (only blue loctite) and the oil was flinging out of the threads.

Rivan has legit tires on it, more power, and more motors. It should lol
FWIW, Rivan told me that I should expect mine in 2024 now lolololololol
I ordered it 1 month before the lightning (which has 4K miles on it now).... so sounds like its perfect timing to just swap it in two years lol
