An old church is on my list of buildings I'd love to buy to convert in to house. Hard to find ornate ones like that in good rural or residential locations though.

There was one local here in Farmington that was for sale. I kept telling my business partner to buy it. He didn't, so I should have.
I'll post up pics and the sold price when I get home tonight.

What you really want is an old firehouse so you never have to leave the shop. :flipoff2:

That is also on my list of cool places that would be fun to turn in to a house.

Those are getting hard to come by too and enough people have done cool shit with them that they go for stupid money when they do pop up.

There was an old firehouse directly across from the new one near my old house. I looked in to it but the county still owned it and they had give the Boy Scouts some long term super cheap lease on it.

I know of two near where I grew up that are in the exact same situation. Must have been some partnership or cooperation initiative back in the day.

Here's an old building near me that I'd love to own one day. I thought it was basically abandoned until I went looking for this image of it. Apparently it's open.

Article about the place. Family owned since 1913. :smokin:

A buddy of mine bought this old firehouse for $52,000 in 2014. On a sealed bid with the county. I didn't even see the sale notice.

Not a cool old firehouse, but the lot alone is worth 125-150k.

It's about 1/4 mile from the church.

There's an old depot across the street. The county has it valued at $21,000. Hell, I'd pay $200k for it so it must be worth 300-400k. The tracks are still there, but they are OOS.

That woud be a shit ton of work to bring back like new. But be cool AF tho.If it has room enough for a big Hall Scott it has room enough for a pancake Cummins.
Reminds me of the movie Bus Stop, starring Marilyn Monroe

Buddy has been building exactly that for a LONG time, everything had to be reengineered. Got her up to 100+ mph recently, at least it had the front windshield in it this time, lol.
