Probably about average to a bit on the high side. I'm in the market for something in the 6-8k size. Preferably one rated for ground engagement. I don't like that particular style with the outriggers. You get more capacity for less overall weight, but the outriggers would get in the way for my needs.

Google says that's a late 80's to early 90's machine.....so probably a bit on the higher side, though it looks like it's in decent shape...or at least it's had a recent Ritchey Bros. tune up.

I got one of those with the adapter to bolt it to an old 1/2 ton Ford or Jeep or Samurai. It cost me either 2 or 3 dollars. I still haven't tried it since I have a hydraulic splitter but for that price I snapped it up. Got a 47 Willys and a Samurai it could go on.
 
Still got ours in the shed. Spent a lot of fall days helping my dad split wood with it bolted up to our 76 Ford. Not as dangerous as people make them out to be, just got to pay attention.
 
Seems cheap. I should buy it to use while hunting WMAs.
