Interesting Craigslist finds

I've never been fined, but I've had two occasions where they were in an accident and they came back to me. The wife is a pitbull about the Liability form and burning a copy.
Having her produce it and send it to DMV was a good thing.
I sold a truck. Dude registered it but kept tge old plates on it. I started getting photo tickets in the mail. Sent a copy of the Bill of sale and the signed release of title. Fuck that guy. Never heard another thing.

Always burn a copy and hold on to it.

Best I can do from noticing a Fagbook ad for~

Reportedly For Free-

I sold a wrecked STI to a mexican dude. apparently he got it back on the road and parked it in Seattle. Got a ticket in the mail and was able to contact the lot with the bill of sale and DMV report of sale. They just said thank you and never heard from them again.

But I do hate the thought of some slimmy messicans out there doing hoodrat shit without switching ownership. :shaking:

That's why nobody gets my Licence plates when I sell something. They don't go with the car in Colorado at least.
yep.

here's your bill of sale and it's legal for you to drive with no plates for 3 days so you can drive it home and register it.

just found a 33" ariens delux snow thrower. My favorite chassis with the biggest motor and scoop.
$100.
I'm trying to give them money on the internet right now so I make sure I grab it.

What are you questioning? The private sale selling process or the snowblower?

Iowa you get 30 days to title it in your name and get plates. Just drive around with the paperwork. I typically don't date BOS or title and carry a pen if I get pulled over:laughing:

Not the snowblower :flipoff2:

Here you're supposed to go to the DMV and get a 10 day temp tag, gotta have BOS in hand, so its a pain in the ass

I've never had to show a bill of sale on dozens of shitboxes I've got titles and registrations for. You don't have to get titles notarized here either. I've gotten stuff free and they put "gift" down for price. But they have started looking at original purchase price and weight for taxable value now which sucks. So Colorado is not the worst in those respects. (yet) I thought New Hampshire was where old stuff didn't even need a title to register it? Or is there no old stuff?:goofball:

Never heard of notarized titles. Purchase price doesn't matter, no sales tax.

Either walk into town hall with a title if newer than 25 years, or bill of sale and and old registration, or bill of sale and VIN verification for older than 25

So you have it made either way basically.

I know someone whose brother in NH gets him titles for old vehicles. You could help a brotha out too.
I think it was VT that had the title loophole. IDK if we can get a title for old shit that doesn't need one.

Fun fact, MDT still need title over 25 years

My state you get 7 days to register it if private sale ,

So as long as you don’t date the bill of sale , you’re good

Or if you print off a new bill of sale every week .

Not saying I’ve ever done that of course .

If you do get pulled over for no tag , you just show the bill of sale and I usually carry a copy of my insurance policy to show I have coverage , and after they get through calling it all in they will let you go .

That’s much preferred to putting a license plate off of another vehicle on .

That’s a whole different level of crime , and the local courts don’t take that lightly .

I have notarized titles and it's pita.
The easiest thing is both parties go to the title office.
I also have out of state vin inspections, so I have to take it to a local dealer so they fill out the form verifying the vin before I can title. thankfully my local dealer is cool and I just pull up and slide the girl some go get lunch money.
Gifts are allowed between family with no tax.
Anything else is 600 dollars cause that's what the title lady told me the minimum amount was to not trigger a state review for sale tx money.
Did I mention the my title office ladies are fucking great? They don't even like the government and they work for it.

That's how we do boats in my state. You sell it to one of your passengers before you go out and sell it back at the end of the day. If you get hassled you're taking it for a test drive.

MA doesn't do temp plates. You can drive a car here on valid plates for a different vehicle in your name for up to 7 days so long as the new vehicle is insured.
