The truck probably has 400k miles and the 22RE blew up, so the dude threw in some random "low mile" 20R to sell it. Or he pulled the 22RE to keep.
I would treat the truck as needing an engine ASAP and would require all the EFI parts to be included with it to swap back to a halfway decent engine.

There is nothing good about the 22r or 22re.
It's more valueable as a rolling shell that someone can put something that doesn't suck into.

Never actually blew one of them up. They kind of just broke and didn't run as good. Friend fell asleep foot to the floor, broke the cam and a piston/rod. Still worked just slower and much more smokey after.
