“I really don’t know why anybody else would buy another vehicle but a Toyota Tacoma”

Not bad:laughing:

My first Tacoma(sic) was an 85.xtra cab. My current one is a 2023. It's not a wheeler but that's not what I bought it for. No complaints so far.

Props to that guy. That thing looks amazing for pushing 500k miles. I'm sure all the maintenance is spot in. But it's still a half a million mile truck. $20k is bat shit crazy.

I'm amazed that the drivers seat looks like it does, toyota leather typically doesn't hold up well, maybe that's changed. Or the seller is a wee man

It's nearby, I'm half tempted to take it for a hot lap:laughing:

It was in Paradise California, November 2018 camp fire.

Was there 24 hrs after the fire started.

Saw that guy picking up people, would have helped but had my dawg with me.

Chico Valley fire in CA some couple years ago. Dude was a nurse who made multiple trips to get people out of the hospital to safety. Toyota gave him a new truck and they are keeping that one in the show room.

I've got a couple thousand miles on my 24 taco. I'm really glad I got the manual 6spd.

Is it true that the 24 tacos only have 4 bangers?
Yes. Hybrid or non hybrid is the only option. The non hybrid is slow as shit even with cool turbo noises. And I'd hold off for a little bit until the transmissions get squared away. First year model problems like always.

I always kinda chuckle when people talk about modern vehicles being slow and/or underpowered. Some of y'all didn't grow up driving 22RE powered shit on 33s with stock gearing and it shows. We're talking like 115 HP off the lot but most of ours were clapped out and probably not even coming close to that.

yup

I bought a brand spanking new 2000 TJ with a 4 banger back in the day. Slapped a spacer lift and 33's on it right away.

Gutless, especially on the hwy.

I beg to differ. Especially in 3rd gear when boost comes on.

Those are the trucks that would slow down and get half the mileage if there was a headwind right? 2nd gear WFO on the freeway kinda shit? Good times:lmao:

I doubt any of those trucks had 80hp by the time they were cheap enough for a teenager to afford one:laughing:

I still have my '97. I ran that bitch in Colorado on the 4.10s with 33x13.50 LTBs. That bitch was a PIG.

Yes sir...with a turbo.
I wonder how that would compare to my 2000 taco with 3.4l and 285's on it?

I frequently haul ~200 gallons of water up a 6 mile steep dirt road and have to use 1st gear during much of the steeper parts. Mostly due to the washboard and turns. But I can pull 2nd gear during a lot of it. ~15-20mph

Its the same hp as the v6 but the torque comes in at a lower rmp. It starts pulling hard about 1200 rpm.

1st and 2nd have very short legs. 3rd is when it actually starts really coming on for mph.

Hey, if it floats your boat fuckin hammer down. I've just gotten spoiled over the years with v8's giving me all the instant torque I want without the lag.

I knew a guy that did billboards, way back before LED walls. He drove a VW Rabbit pickup with that 48hp diesel, and with his ladder in the bed, sticking up over the roof he could barely go 55mph. When it was foggy, he would lose a couple mph.
