How hard is inflation going to hit, or has hit?

There is correlation…. Causation is the area I’m interested in understanding
If i had to take a wild ass guess id say big players are pulling money out of thier more volatile plays across the board. Tommorow should be a crazy day for the stock and crypto markets with people trying to position themselves for 2pm

So you’re now saying that crypto is NOT a hedge against inflation? Even thought you’ve been pretty vocal about it. Wing a savior against the dollar?

I’m honestly confused. Crypto ftw… and yet it’s deflating.
Jesus fucking Christ

Stop being a fucking Gary here and reading into a bunch of your own opinions. All I did was post a clip that has a talking head show inflation numbers…

You wanna talk crypto shit take it to another thread.

With a 10 handle on inflation, you can bet the fed has to raise rates and fast.

Some are predicting that the rate hike 2023 timeline will get bumped to 2022.
I don't see a choice on the feds part, it's on the edge of out of control right now. 2% fed target, with housing and energy added in it's about 10% real inflation. I think they will jump in 1/2 point increments starting end of Q1.

My brain really starts to spin when I see that the DXY is in a uptrend…

Because the other world currencies are inflating and doing worse than the dollar right now…

So many other countries are telling us to hold their beer on this money printing ordeal.

Surprised no one here has mentioned it....must not be a big deal

Add another $2.5 Trillion to the limit...why not?

Congress approves $2.5 trillion debt-limit increase

There is zero reason for the feds to collect taxes anymore. Just print money and let the populous have a few good months of perceived economic freedoms while they load us onto that California hyper train… finished tracks be damned

simply stated inflation is when there is more money to buy products than products available.

Supply and demand will therefore have an impact on inflation. What this numbskull administration is doing is to fuck us on both sides. Added money while production is tanking and the supply chain is fucked.

The part that pisses me off is to see the people that have taught me so much in my life trying to get by on their retirement income that changes very little. If I need more money, I work harder. Those guys have put in their time and shouldn't have to do that type of shit any more if they weren't getting fucked. I don't mind helping on occasion, but this is a permanent thing as far as cost of living change. Inflation may stop or slow down, but you will never see deflation in our country as long as the government can manipulate the economy. So for fixed income people, this is a permanent fucking and those are the people that can least afford it.
Everytime I try to muster up a fuck for retirees and inflation I just can't do it. They were working during the greatest economic expansion in history, then voted in the same shit stains that sent the jobs overseas, entitlement expansion and didn't ever reign the fed in on their bullshit policies. Reap what you sow I guess, should have saved better, not buy that boat, didn't vote based on identity politics and should have cracked open an economics book.

I am excluding people who were forced into retirement or who are out due to a disability (a legit one) and are on a fixed income, they are fucked for sure.

So it's a war on Boomers? :homer:

Not saying a war, but the first step to fixing problems is identifying what caused them.

They are nothing but a perpetual victim class, my generation legit won't be able to retire, I'm way ahead of the game savings wise and see that it it's likely not going to happen. Not retiring as in won't be able to at all, not a few less trips to Florida or downgrade the condo level of sacrifice they are currently making that I should be gushing with grief over.

I'm not disagreeing that the boomers as a generation fucked this country. My post was directly speaking to those that I know and that didn't deserve this.

I can't disagree... but not all boomers were created alike. My dad is pretty conservative on a whole and he is disgusted at the turns our country has made in the last several decades. The majority of the boomers though? Yup. Buncha bleeding heart idiocy.

Yea I agree with that, that's why I added the line about people who are on fixed incomes outside of the typical boomers, like disabled and shit like that. Feel for them big time!!

To a point I agree but, that's not who I think voted in Obama or Biden. Hell, in the last election everyone born in 2002 is eligible to vote.

And no, I'm quite aware this shit started way the fuck back. But we have a generation of entitled shitheads that think making a taco should be worth $20 an hour.

So, boomers and Gen X'ers created this shit and the millennials are going to push us right off the cliff.

Half the country disagrees though... we have an insane 50/50 split going on.

50/50 on, and I hate using this word, literally everything. That's what bringing this country to it's knees.

Which can be attributed to the dumbing down of your society. I mean seriously there are many people that cannot grasp what it means when the value of the dollar is devaluate. How can they be worse off if they are making more money? (I'm referring to raising the min wage and the government handing out money).

They simply cannot grasp it.

And I don't disagree... and, again, it's by design.

Every generation has had a hand in the problem. Focusing on a battle to denigrate one or the other takes the light off those truly responsible. Politicians have been in a steady race to gather votes by spending tax monies we paid all while slinking back into the shadows when the outcomes of bad moves become apparent.

We better figure out how to restructure our political system away from uncle gravey incentives.
