Homemade Attachments for Forklifts Skidsteers and Other Equipment

That's just what the manual says. I'm wondering if they rely a bit on the pivot of the bucket being on the ground. You get stability from that and the leverage at the cutting edge.
First, I'm curious why you have a manual for the Hough (or is that an internet pic).

Second, what does the Hough weigh?

Maybe. IDK I guess if you left the boom lever in the down position while curling the bucket you could get the bucket to basically roll upward on its back.

Manual says speed of 10.2, I would have guessed 11. I guess it feels faster when it's a clapped out POS.

I don't think these things were ever intended for ground engagement. They were for scooping bulk material out of bins and hoppers.
I concur.

I put this 3-point hitch together for a friend of mine to help his firewood operation on his property . It’s cat-2 and has 5 4.5" OD frac pump plungers bolted to it for a little counter weight. Its mostly built from stuff I had laying around so I had to work around a few limitations with materials. over all it turned out good and weighs in at about 500lbs.

You don't have a manual for a Hough H-25B just laying around for reference? :fliipoff2:

Says 6,350lbs in the pic I posted.

I concur.

Assuming you have the "standard" trans. Could be valved for faster or slower.

Service manual makes no mention of that FWIW.

If I ever have a problem with the motor I plan to swap out for a higher displacement one, mostly so that the initial creep speed as you release the brake is slower and more suitable for precision work.

Makes sense. Outside of a nice smooth concrete warehouse floor, there's zero reason for a forklift to go fast. Mine just bounces the fuck out of the carriage on my gravel driveway when I floor the go pedal.

Got the quick attach plate on the neighbors land leveler. Been a bit since I’ve welded on 1/2”….

So now this thing can be used forward and reverse.

|EDIT: works much better than pulling backwards. Can do my entire 1/4 mile long drive in about 10 minutes now. I probably should return this to my neighbor at some point.

Got any better pics and/or dimensions of the land leveler? Looks like it'd be easy enough to fabricobble something pretty close with the scrap I have laying around.

Only other pics I have… it’s a J Bar model. I know it’s 71.5” outside width, but I’d have to measure everything else.

I think the only key item is the hardened blades… everything else is pretty basic.

I picked up a EARLY version of a Bobcat 331. Its in the first 2k units produced while still under Melroe. Runs like a champ, has some hydraulic issues that are easy to fix for the most part, but the pins are bad... like throwing a hot dog down the hallway.

My 320 sounds about the same. I'll be following to see how this works out for you.

My plates arrived this week had to apologize to the ups guy. 4 125 pound plates. They seem to be pretty decent. I need to make some more 10’ buckets and they will work perfect for that. The adapter needs to be heavy as hell because being that long are hell on them.

10' buckets?

Need pics.

They are for cleaning out under the conveyors. I’ll grab a pick of one today. They are 10’ long 24” wide and 5” tall. Absolutely a life saver in my business.
I worked with an Australian company designing dry sump oil systems for 3cyl cat diesels years ago. They built low profile rc machines to clean up under conveyors. Could only find this prototype video left on the internet. Business folded unfortunately.

Pretty cool but impractical for my put. All my shit is like 8” off the ground lol.

Here is one of the first ones I made. Only a 8’er. Been broke like 6 times :lmao:. Needs To get a new one made to replace it.

Looks like a job for that new to you brake. Get it making parts yet?

Yeah been making clamp bars for the screen boxes like mad. Only takes 60 of them to fill my twin screen lol. Need to make some kind of back gauge for it. It has a manual slide which works but would like to church it up a bit.

Need to get it moved into the new shop. Another someday project. Got a loader tore apart to replace center pins atm. Need to line bore 2 holes but do not have big enough centering plugs so I need to make those first :homer:. I can’t win sometimes.

I whipped this together today. It slides over one fork rail on a set of pallet forks for my track loader. It’ll be used to move trailers around when needed and flip it around and use the chain hook for cherry picker work. The chain hook primary task is a safety chain hookup to the pallet fork headache rack to prevent the trailer from pulling the plate off of the fork when moving the trailer on a hill.

Once I get some time, I’m going to start on a boom attachment for the loader also. I’ve had the boom part for 20 years now and just picked up a skid steer loader blank mounting plate via some horse trading with a buddy of mine. I’ll post it up when the time comes.

Might be worth putting a hook on a piece of angle and putting that on the bottom, that way gravity will hold it in for cherry picker work.
