What's new

Future of KOH 4400 chassis/car development?

Makes sense there.

utvs are the best example of lightweight, but they will never be able to keep up in the dezert flat-out with the top guys. you need the sprung weight and hp. right now they can pick their way around the tough rocks. utvs will be in the mix until one ends up on the podium, then dave will drop the hammer and there will be a course with a 75% attrition rate that will favor the solid axle cars in technical rocks. guys who are mediocre in the rocks and make up for it in the dezert better pray this never happens.

The new Maverick Rs are going to be the equalizer. Hunter Miller told me face to face that their X3 4400 cars were straight up scarey to drive at anything above 90mph in the desert sections of KOH and that the New Maverick R 4400 cars can run through those same sections at 110+ like it's a Sunday cruise.:smokin: And let's not forget that they no longer have a belt to worry about breaking and a 6 speed gearbox. I also know that the factory Can-Am guys have been spending a lot of time out in JV with those new cars getting all the bugs worked out. Can-Am is on a mission to prove something and i think there is going to be some big time butthurt at KOH 25.

I bet we see a golfcart in the top 3 of 4400 this year. The Miller's have put a ton of time into and in those new cars testing over the last year and haven't really done much racing of other forms this season. Hunter Miller and Kyle Chaney have the best shots at being the one in the top 3 in 4400 at KOH 2025 in my opinion but you can never count out Dustin Jones because that dude is super fast too and spends a lot of time desert racing.

Last I saw on Hunter Miller's FB page he was in another country racing in something like the Dakar Rally for Can-Am. That dude puts in work and is in the gym or out driving something constantly in the off seasons to keep him on point.

I was surprised how much visibly larger the R is sitting at a dealer. Will be interesting to see how that plays in the rocks.

Bigger is better.
I bet the R does better than the previous ones.

Doesn't mean I think it'll win.

Tells me you haven't looked at a UFO up close

I was a bit shocked this weekend when I saw one in person for the first time expecting something slightly bigger than a SxS with 40" tires and that was not the case. They are MUCH bigger than I had ever thought they would be.

Darian Gomez’s UFO is for sale, Straight rear axle car.
