Yeah, I was just saying a lot of people start in autoX and it doesn't cost much to do it so it's a good way to get into the sport or get a 'racing/speed' fix without breaking the bank.He did not start in autocross. He was just into cars 110% and did everything he could with very little money. He just worked really hard at doing whatever he could to get seat time. Even hosting events at small circle tracks, or whatever.
He also had a ~75 Camaro that he raced 24 hours of lemons in.
I'm not saying your wrong. If you're the average guy who just wants to buy a car and get on the track, I'm sure it's very expensive. But just like anything, effort can prevail over throwing money if that's really what you want to commit to.
Not like wheelin where you can just pick up whatever rig and head out to almost any trail or park for next to nothing with little effort.
Private track fees here are ridiculous....$40K a year for the most basic membership. Not many people can swing that...but that track is busy...so obviously some can. It's a very different world from wheeling....one I don't particularly care for. Just not my thing. Different strokes for different folks.
