That looks nice. You could weld two wheels so they are just off the floor. Then just tip it on them to roll.
Jeebus. That'll do. Though keep in mind the fireball one will open probably twice is wide as that. Your offset/cantilever design definitely helps but might need to be steeper/wider for this vise fully opened.I move this around with a hand truck, the vise and the base each weigh 175 lbs-ish
That is another idea, I have access to a bunch of used forklift wheels, they are not as wide, but might make a good form for a chunk of concrete. We showing off vise stands now? Old skidsteer wheels make fantastic stands. The 6" parker on the left weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 175#. Can hang off of the handle tightening something and the stand doesn't move. Could fill the wheel and/or post with concrete for more gravity. Cheap too.
3 pieces of 6" angle iron with a little taper, the base was a random 3/4 drop. If I ever switch the Reed for the Fireball, I'll just fill the column with lead shot and move around it with a forklift! Was that vertical post repurposed from something else? Almost looks like the top of a steel utility pole.
That is a clean looking setup

I can check, they are the press on steel/solid rubber wheels, what size does it take?
Got any that will fit my Clark C500-H40?
While you're at it I might need some steers.I can check, they are the press on steel/solid rubber wheels, what size does it take?
I doubt they would be much of an improvement over what you have tread wise (compared to what I see here: Just Joined the Forklift Club :smokin: ) but they could be regrooved...

Again, what size do you have? While you're at it I might need some steers.
Git yer own thread.Again, what size do you have?

I have no idea. I'll have to check when I get home. Probably 7.50-10 or something like that.Again, what size do you have?

Looks like $230 plus your ACME or UNC thread and nut.I might be interested.
with all the parts ordered, any idea on the final cost?
Are those the same bolt pattern as the original ones from earlier in the thread?Since this is a large vise, I've been hunting for bigger jaw plates that are reasonably priced.
Found these Irwin 8" x 1" x .5" jaws on amazon currently $27.30 for the pair with mounting screws.

Don't think so.Are those the same bolt pattern as the original ones from earlier in the thread?

I'm still fucking with a blown servo driver on mine, but as soon as I get it back working I have no problem running a bunch of these on it.This is sad I was looking at haas vf3’s on face book marketplace last night. I always wanted one of those. …. It’s crazy how “cheap” a cnc mill is. I’m used to everything costing 200k+ and that’s for the used shit .
Just peddle some stupid shit I have around the yard.
Buy a cnc mill to make a few vise parts what a . I do think if I get one my old Bridgeport will start rusting away.
What do you have?I'm still fucking with a blown servo driver on mine, but as soon as I get it back working I have no problem running a bunch of these on it.
Old skool Bridgeport cnc converted to more moderner electronics. About 9"x18" with envelope. What do you have?
