Yes and they are great people. Also have friends that were raised by grandparents because their young parents were to selfish and didnt want him after they found out how much work it was and they couldn’t party anymore. He is also great dude. YMMV I guess?

Ummm.....count me in the not having kids till i am 30-40. That was what i grew up with and it was awesome. If you are fiscaly responsible parents, what that means is that retirement is already funded (because if you didnt do it before you had kids and before 40, you are going to have a shitty retirement kids or not) and your kids get to grow up with awesome experiences. Instead of being broke, kids get to grow up with good schools, nice houses, land, vacations etc. Way better than popping out some fuck trophies at 20.

"But sports.....cant throw a ball..." STFU. Have kids at 20 > At 16, you're 36 and they are better than you. Have kids at 40 > At 14, you're 54 and they are better than you big fucking whoop.

The biggest thing though is that there is a good chance that kid will loose his or her dad at a very young age. Imo that shows they weren't thinking about the kid, they were only thinking about themselves.

I know quite a few that are 70 with 10 year olds and they are loving it. Life happened late for them and they wanted a family. Who am I to say they shouldn't do that if it makes them happy.

Having a kid when your not ready or on some whim/lark because of age is selfish and stupid.

Yes and they've turned out better then other raised by young parents. It could be argued on the same thread your pushing that having kids period is selfish.

Kinda the opposite here.

One kid was the same situation you mention. He's a good friend as in he'd do anything for a buddy. But also kinda a pos in a lot of ways. Kinda like a spoiled brat, his grandparents just didn't have the patience to raise him at the age they were.

The other just had old parents, similar to the other guy, he was a spoiled kid, no respect for anything. He would just destroy his parent vehicles anytime he had them. Had multiple dui's by like 22. He seems to have calmed down, but hes now in his early 30s. Drives a pos 90s pathfinder, works at a grocery store and lives in a 5th wheel that his dad gave him.

Oh and his mom died when he was about 23.
 
Just remembered some girls we went to school with who had old ass parents. The older girl went pretty deep into drugs. The younger one went even deeper and ended up going away for it.

parents that are young and they have no idea whats going on in life
or parents that are so young they are not financially stable?
or parents that have to work 99% of their time?
or cause young parents always stay together and never get divorced and drag their kids through that
or cause young parents don't just split and leave their kids or spouse with kids

Kids don't know the difference, they have parents that love them and that's all they care about.

My grandparents on both sides lived long enough they could have raised both me and my sister through college and our parents were not young.

We were 37. Didn’t plan on waiting quite that long but that’s how it worked out. Since my wife and I were further along in our careers I was able to quit my job, start my own company and work part time. My wife makes enough to comfortable support us. We’ll be able to make sure our kid goes to decent schools etc. Both sets of grandparents are retired and get to spend as much time with her as they want. Instead of stuffing her in daycare for 10 hours a day she spends all her time with her family.

I watched a lot of people have kids in their 20s, struggle financially, put their lives on hold etc and the only benefit I see is the kids are out of the house while you’re relatively young so then you can pick up a hobby you should have had in your 30s. :laughing:

I seriously can't believe I'm in the minority on this. If you make it to 50 and haven't had kids, you want joy in your life, adopt an older kid.

You don't think there's a reason most women need all kinds of medical help to have kids past their 40s?

I refuse to stay out of town because I have kids actually. The only reason I'm doing what I'm doing is because I can be home at 5.

The week I stayed in the hotel in sf when you grabbed your parts was my first time doing that and it sucked. The wife even came up with the kids to bring me dinner 2 evenings. I want to say the 7k+/week is worth it but it really isnt.

My dad was 54 when he had me, so I would tend to agree.

He passed when I was 27 or so at 80yr old.
 
I backed a singer that opened for Dwight back when he was getting going (early 80's) it was us, lone justice and Dwight headlining. I can say that Dwight, in person, was among the 10 ugliest people I have ever seen. The hat covers a lot of ugly. He went on to bang and dump Sharon Stone (nice on both counts) and have a great career (which would have been even better if he'd kept Pete Anderson in charge of the music) Anyway, if he was able to bone someone and have a kid, I have no opinion about that. I am married to a much younger woman who I was able to meet and date without her ever knowing if I had any money or not... and, it works... the french say 'half your age plus 7 is perfect' and I think they are right. People who make up rules for other people are assholes.
 
Damn, this was 6 years ago. He's a hell of a songwriter, plays a good Tele and gives his audience what they came for. Tough to work for though, very demanding and not very personable.

That's the main fact here that YotaAtieToo has failed at understanding. That's my whole, and only argument in this thread, and YotaAtieToo still says I haven't made an argument. :rolleyes:

Once in a while isn't a big deal, I hate getting sucked into doing it all summer. The cool thing is that when you do get home after a week, they're all super stoked to see you.
