It's the right time of year to get on with somebody up north and bank it while it's good
I work 14 hour days, I'm not pushed too or anything I could 60ish of i wanted, it's a rotational job, I just don't take home time hardly ever, one reason I work so much is there's nothing to do out here but drink and gamble, I'm trying to avoid both, also I like working, never happy sitting aroundYou are taking home ~$150k a year at 100hr/week? I thought you are limited to X hrs a day of driving? How do you work 100hrs a week? Also why would you want to work so many hours.
The more I read about the hours you guys work I am happier and happier with my 40-45 a week I average lately.
Like Alaska? Doing what? It's the right time of year to get on with somebody up north and bank it while it's good
Nothing better to do, usually in some shit hole village in bfe. It's either work or drink. What is it with guys in Alaska claiming to work every hour of every day every day of the week?
How did you land that? Do you have to have specific degree/training?I am a Telecommunications Field Engineer, for a company that contracts to the Government.
Not a trucker but I drive over 150k miles a year in my service truck to communication sites all over Northern California. Work from my home so clock starts when I leave my driveway until I return.
Best job I have ever had in my life, and I should be retired but the money is easy as is the job....
Pure Luck, answered a craigslist gigs adHow did you land that?
College Degrees in Telecommunications technology and Computer technology back in the 80's and over 30 years experience in the trade at the time I got that job over 10 years ago. Yep I am a senior citizen nowDo you have to have specific degree/training?
14 hr days, 7days a week- sounds insane to me. I work to have $ to do the stuff I want to do- ie SPEND $ ha ha. I have no problem working extra when needed, but just to work to work does not appeal to me.I work 14 hour days, I'm not pushed too or anything I could 60ish of i wanted, it's a rotational job, I just don't take home time hardly ever, one reason I work so much is there's nothing to do out here but drink and gamble, I'm trying to avoid both, also I like working, never happy sitting around
At your rate of an average of 100hrs/week taking home $150K a year- that all has to be just banked then right? Like retire stupid early? What is the end goal for that kinda grind?I take a day off here and there
Half my check goes into savings/retirement, I pissed alot away when I was younger I like to travel and have a good time, especially doing things I can't do when I'm old, my end game is a small house in the mountains somewhere, with a comfortable amount of just in case money and a job I actually like doingAt your rate of an average of 100hrs/week taking home $150K a year- that all has to be just banked then right? The fuel delivery drivers usually make $100k before taxes and home every day .
You’d hate farming lol.14 hr days, 7days a week- sounds insane to me. I work to have $ to do the stuff I want to do- ie SPEND $ ha ha. I have no problem working extra when needed, but just to work to work does not appeal to me.
Yea- absolutely no desire to do that. You’d hate farming lol.
It's more that I don't believe it. You cam only run a truck 12 hours and all the oil field work is 7, 10, 14, or 20 day hitches. You might work a week of 14 hour days, but your off the next week.Nothing better to do, usually in some shit hole village in bfe. It's either work or drink.

Our fuel delivery contractors keep saying they can't find people. It is a little bit variable on hours/days worked, but its still basically salary.

Half a dozen cameras on the truck, tons of data-logging and analytics, etc, etc.
You're spending all your money on whores ain't ye?!I take a day off here and there
So do they care if I fire one off while I'm driving?but if you drive for them, then you are walmart.
if you can manage to not be on your phone all day, that's about the hardest part. sure, they've got cameras that watch their drivers...tradeoffs all over the place.
but there might not be a more stable steering wheel holder job with as many benefits as walmart.
as long as you clean the truck and keep your eyes on the roadYou're spending all your money on whores ain't ye?!
I would be!
