What's new

Dogs of Irate 4x4

The look on Merced’s face when he was barking at 1AM like the Russians were invading, and dad gets out of bed, gets dressed, grabs a rifle and a torch to investigate, and there’s nothing….
Neighbor’s dogs (I think they’re new) have been barking at all hours of the night recently. Elliot was reacting like, “Oh, shit… WTF??” at first. He’s done with it. I think the neighbor dogs are annoying him now

A day on a leash to set boundaries & a few days off & she stays on my hip unless I tell her to “chill, I’ll be right back”. I swear she speaks English. Didn’t want a dog but apparently I needed one, or one needed me.

Friday we said goodbye to Reagan (on right). My wife’s first pup, so she’s taking it hard. Pup had hepatitis and liver issues, so we’ve been on borrowed time for 4-5 years. She was the heart of the neighborhood- everyone loved her. Our Mal is doing okay, but showing signs of depression (she’s never liked change.)

I'm sorry to hear about Reagan. I know she's playing with my Labs and the other dogs from here waiting for you to come.

RIP Reagan. Say hi to all my labs that have gone before me. If dogs dont go to heaven I dont want to go. I want to go where my dogs are thats all I ask for as I know thats where my dad and my friends that went before me all wanted to go as well.

Welcome to the “Bully breed”. If you are not familiar, they are intelligent, and a bit strong willed. Our previous man-eaters were amazing. Our current man-eater loves people, but hates other animals smaller than a donkey.

I am, & you’re 100% correct. My late pup Sage with Annie. 2 peas in a pod till Sage passed. Haven’t run across an animal yet that she doesn’t like, including my 2 donkeys.

Yesterday was tough. We found out a month ago that Sadie had degenerative myelopathy. We committed to keeping her comfortable as long as it was right to do so.
Wednesday night we saw blood drops on the floor. We took her to the vet and it turns out she had a big tumor on her belly.
12 years old.

Sorry for your loss.

Well, I’ve been saying no to a dog for a couple years now. And I just couldn’t not get back into having hair tumbleweeds in the house any longer.

Meet these two, both males I picked out today. Dad is Serbian and mom’s German. Both parents love everyone which is big for me. I don’t need guard dogs, i need neighborhood friendly dogs. They are ready to come home on the 19th.

Lol @ the dog hair tumbleweeds. We have dog hair tumbleweeds that would make a western movie jealous.
I’ll be going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and quietly step over a dog, and then realize I was just stepping over a dog hair tumbleweed…

Sorry for your loss. :frown:

I had to deal with the exact same thing years ago with my Wolf/Shepherd/Husky mix and it was terrible watching him deteriorate. Had to put him down 2 weeks shy of his 14th B-day.

105 lbs. of the best dog I've ever had.

I appreciate it. Condolences back to you.
It sure is hard putting your best buddy down.
I guess we are looking for another wolf hybrid puppy. They are hard to find, but they make awesome companions.

SO sorry, our heart goes out to you and your pup...

our first GSD had this around 10.5 years and we had to make that tough decision too....and unfortunately just put our 3rd GSD down in July at 8.5...she was full of cancer. Still ball like a baby when I think of her.

I feel for ya. One of our pups got the big C. It came on so fast we couldn't do anything to stop it. Had to put him to rest Friday night.

Sorry for your loss. Not a day goes by when I don’t think about my first GSD Thor. Hardest thing I have ever gone through.

:lmao: The AC pushed one at me in the dark bathroom last week. I was hoping it was a bundle of hair and not a creature.

This is Pete high as fuck on a pile of dog tranquilizers that were supposed to knock him out so we could put a collar on him, load him in my truck and then take him to the vet to get shots and a snip. This has got to be the most strong willed dog I've ever met.:shaking: I got the collar and leash on him earlier but the fucker slipped out of it before we made it to the truck. I spent the last hour chasing his ass around the property and finally gave up so that's when he decided to come in for a nap. I just picked up the collar off the table and this is what I get......

Dude is totally asleep standing up and is still smart enough to avoid me and the dreaded collar of death.
