I was at a dinner with Reince Preibus a couple of months ago in monterey. He said it comes down to the swing states and within those states less than 100K voters. He said both sides know exactly those households and that they are targeting them specifically... it isn't about the popular vote at all (has not been since GWB) it is about those swing states and voters.

The next 6 weeks are gonna be focused on those 100K people and finding a way to move them A) to the polls and B to their candidate.

Weird that a selection comes down to this.... but, according to Priebus, that is the scoop and I think he is probably right.

I think it is like republicans fawning over Tulsi. To get a Nixon whitehouse leader is a 'get' for the left.... like getting Tulsi is for the right.

When your arch enemy surrenders and joins your side without equivocation... that is HUGE. There are a ton of Bush type republicans (old fashioned conservative republicans) who will listen to Cheney or Mitt. For them to surrentder. That is meaningful.

BUT, the level of perceived disenfranchisement on the 'right' (which is not really the right anymore) it may not matter. The folks who feel that NOBODY is for them anymore need someone and Trump is that someone. That is why they can look past his faults and be attracted to a person who can say what he wants and leave it unvarnished and understandable to the disenfranchised. It all makes sense. What is a terrible thing is that so many people feel disenfranchised... that is the failure.

And that both sides have used modern psychology and marketing tools to convince voters of things that are simply an illusion. And still worse, is that the effectiveness of both sides has resulted in the very voters they would court not believing ANYTHING and leaning toward tearing everything apart.

Essentially fatal irony. I think we'll turn away from it all, but it may be awhile.

You may be right, I guess Bonanza is the ultimate litmus test for that. I don't think the general population Bush era republican will vote Harris, but if bonanza is swayed, it may be more prevalent than I think.

I could see it driving those people away from the pole, which is the same as increasing own turnout

Everyone knew Dick and his neocon cocksuckers ran the show and not the shrub.

When Hillary ran they were both happy (Dems and Pubs) and why they let this clown run: it was gonna be a slam dunk.

Waking up the morning after 2016 and hearing Hillary (and the establishment) lost (on their obvious setup) was and still is one of my favourite moments in my life.

The clown winning exposed SO MUCH by a side effect. It brought many (like the media) to come out of the woodwork and show us who they really were.

This, however, is an even bigger shit show with many unintended consequences incoming.

Sadly, she was quite competent. Trump was under siege from all sides and was all over the place and easily baited.

I really wish he had stayed on message.
