What's new

coldest spot in the 48?

Minnesota, the Dakota's and Wyoming are probably the last places in the continental US I'd want to spend a winter. I did a bunch of work in Medicine Bow Wyoming last summer, and while it was an absolutely beautiful and peaceful place to be at that time the thought of being in that spot during the winter had me all: nope...nope...nope! The few and far between houses I did see out that way had snow fencing higher than the house itself on all sides. Again, nope...nope...nope!
Wife's aunt and uncle lived in Laramie for a few years. We went up to visit for a long weekend back in July '14. They said people would move to the "country" and be moving back to town after 2-3 years of living on the prairie.. The cold, wind and snow would break them.

I stopped to fuel up in Castle Rock, CO.

It was 30*F with a 5+ MPH breeze blowing through the gas station.

At the time; still a desert rat from S.Cal, that cut through me right to the core!:eek:

It was an introduction of what was to come when I moved to ID (instead of CO).

International Falls is nicknamed the "Icebox of the Nation,” with an average of 109.4 days per year with a high temperature below 32 °F (0 °C).

And that one is less detailed, seems less accurate too.
Try zooming in and hovering with your mouse. They give temperatures for square mile sections, and it is interpolated from actual weather station data.

Oh. I didn’t see instructions saying to open it on the computer instead of the phone

Edit, it’s clunky but you can zoom and check on the phone.

Looks Like Fraser CO is the big loser today of the places I looked up. The temperature here Yesterday was that cold yesterday.

The empty hole where Nancy pelosi's heart used to be is colder than liquid nitrogen so you peasants and your -20 ain't got shit.

My little sister keeps sending me snaps of -20 or worse from two harbors Minnesota. I'm happy in Montana where it hasn't gotten that cold yet this year.
